Actually I was lucky and got the last Orphy at the old "cheaper" price. Plus Andrew gave me a nice discount on top of that, as I had spent so much with him this past year. Yes it was expensive, but nowhere near what they sell for now. And it was worth it, that deeply musical organic nature coupled with its ability to uncover detail and staging prowess is hard to describe.

Big boy right here. I am very interested in your comparison about the Bird vs. Jewel. Both are exceptional in their own way, but Jewel had the edge at the end and this is the one I kept. Looking forward to reading your impressions.

I also am curious about my C9 pairing with N8ii and the Jewel. The IER-Z1R will get big head time too, as I suspect the aforementioned dap/amp combo bringing a bit more mids presence into play, while keeping the bass exactly as I love it.

You're going to love that combo. It's fabulous. Currently listening to that exact combo and it's pretty breathtaking. Give the N8ii about 30 minutes to warm up and it gets even better

Friday night session with X. The more I listen, the more I love this set - the first that really challenge Traillii for the top spot in my collection. Absolutely adore the ethereal, visceral sensation and they are unbeatable when it comes to my electronic music library.

I actually let my amp and dap warming up the exact same time before starting the listening session. And now, I am even more impatient... ah!

Yep, I need Jewel at some point too... I'm holding out though a few months - ideally Christmas if I can resist till then. Maybe a cheeky DAP at some point too, holding out to see if a P7 emerges!
I have been using N8ii + C9 for full sized headphones. It really shines. I would endorse it as a full desktop replacement transportable system. I have been listening to ZMF Atrium with it. Man, it is really great.
What this means is if you already have an N8ii, you can add a C9 and drive almost all headphones to great levels.
