2nd photo, how do you like those Hytrons? Are they 7193?

Volume is maxed on the amp but controlled on my dap.
I have since halved that from when that pic was taken.
The “Green Monster” amp is actually a heavily modded Elekit TU-8600S with Lundahl transformers.
I call it that because I’m a Red Sox fan and it reminded me of the wall at Fenway Park.

The Hytrons are E1148, also known as CV6 or VT-232 and are a cheap cool frankentube variant used in the 12AU7 socket with an adapter.

My Vérité arrived almost a year ago, at which time I had these two affordable tube amps to drive them. They're the ZDT Jr and the SW51+



While both are excellent amps, both in and of themselves - and at their respective price points - neither suited my preferences with the VO. I find the VO quite intense and energetic and, as a neutral amp, the SW51+ did little to soften the sound - as I would have liked - and I suspect the ZDT Jr's upper-mids or lower-treble didn't pair ideally with the VO.

Since then I was tremendously fortunately to be able to own a DNA Stratus, which makes for an absolutely glorious pairing for the Vérité. Quick disclaimer: much of the gear in the following photo isn't mine. I had some of it on loaner tours from another forum or from personal loaners, including the Atrium, which also paired exceptionally well with the Stratus:



I took this pic because I doubt I'll ever have so much amazing gear, all at once, in my home again!

For a change of pace from tubes, vintage receivers go great with ZMF dynamics. Caldera not so much.

My zmf collection with the versatile Stratus. I love every zmf headphone with the Stratus which is not what I can say with too many other amps. I’ve had lots of amps that worked wonders with some Zmf’s but not all. This is why the Stratus has become reigning champion for me. Glad it works well with the Caldera as well. My dac is an Ayon Audio Sigma. 2nd best to my beloved Ex Lampizator Atlantic. That was the best Dac I’ve ever owned or heard for my tastes. Glorious midrange, realistic and warm without sacrificing natural details. Not a analytical bone in its body but still very resolving.
@Monsterzero hope you are loving your lampi! Please don’t make the same mistake I did and look for better as it will be hard to find elsewhere and the loss will haunt you in your dreams.

I got it on trade with the intention of keeping for only a little while but it is now growing on me and proving to be a nice side piece to the stratus.
