Just a small question.
When using ZMF Atriums and Verite with Schiit ragnarok 2, whats the best gain setting, med or high?

I've got the v 1.5. I use low or medium gain. At the risk of repeating what you may already know, be very, very careful with the high gain setting, it puts out an enormous amount of power.

It's my birthday, so why not light a candle.
The BH Crackatwoa is still my favorite pairing with my VCs.
Also, the Auteur Hybrids with Blackwood VC's are something special, too.

There is definitely some better performance to be had, now that the Audio Envy Studio Prestige IC's have been added. This little amp rocks even harder now.

*** … our setups are only service plazas on the audio turnpike … so when your little inner audio being whines ‘are we there yet?’, the answer is ‘for a while’ …Very well put. I experience the same (though to a much a lesser degree, I’m sure) with the WA2.
Amen!
This is so true- the Piety is a great product, especially with the right headphones (and sources). So it can introduce new audiophiles to higher-quality reproduction of music and increase their enjoyment significantly (in my case, for my nephew ).
In some cases that will be enough and the owner will live the sound and music and remain content. More power to those listeners.
In other cases, it is merely the scratching the surface- it is the start to a journey that may end years, even decades, later.
Some of us have completed that journey***, others are somewhere else on the continuum. It is a wonder, regardless, and hopefully enjoyable for all. Love the music along the way!

Hi guys I need some opinions and suggestions. I am curious as to how an otl amp would stack up with my WA22 with we421a, mullard ecc35 6sl7, and Emission Labs 5u4g mesh plate using the Atrium. Do you think a cheaper otl amp with some decent tubes would stack up in sound quality? I am only planning on using the Atrium with this as it is the only set of cans I have now. I am trying to save some money to put towards other musical interest but I don't want to lose out on sound quality either. Anyy suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!

We've heard of rabbit holes; some of us have heard of K-holes.*** … our setups are only service plazas on the audio turnpike … so when your little inner audio being whines ‘are we there yet?’, the answer is ‘for a while’ …
Not to let the air out of your spare--but this is the "metaphor hole."

An OTL h/p/a with decent tubes will be tremendous with Atrium. You might look at Woo WA2! You could use the WE421a (pair) as the power tubes; the rectifiers would be of the EZ81 type; you could use nice 12AT7 w/adapters or 2C51 / 5670 w/adapters as the input tubes … ideas to get you started!Hi guys I need some opinions and suggestions. I will look into that! It would be nice to keep the we421a because I love those tubes! Lol.An OTL h/p/a with decent tubes will be tremendous with Atrium. You might look at Woo WA2! Not all otl amps sound the same.
The Glenn OTL and the WA2 both tend towards warm and euphoric, whereas the Airmid leans more towards linear, spacious sounding.

What I'm thinking about doing is selling my wa22, we421a, mullard ecc35 6sl7, and Emission Labs 5u4g and buying a cheaper otl and a Fender Tonemaster Super Reverb guitar amp. I recently bought a Gibson 61 sg so i gotta have an amp too. I'll keep the tubes if I find an amp that is compatible with them though. I have always heard how otl just paired better with dynamic cans and all I have is dynamic. I have never heard any otl amp so I didn't know if a cheaper otl amp could compete with my wa22 and upgraded tubes. Not all otl amps sound the same.
