Seems like a big miss not supporting LDAC at that price pointIf anyone wants to review the TWS-C from PlusSound, let me know - shoot me a few of your TWS reviews!

For those who are interested in Go Pod, do note it doesn't support stereo channels on LDAC 990 kbps (SQ Preferred mode). See further explanation here. If you switched to LDAC 990 kbps and the connection becomes unstable, it means your smartphone might not support mono channel in TWS setup. If it is stable, likely your Go Pod is on mono only.

Is it though? Worth checking with the product team perhaps so you don't shoot yourself in the foot for nothing? That's correct and thanks for sharing

I tested UTWS5 and Go Pod side-by-side again regarding LDAC 990 and aptx Adaptive stability. I can get UTWS to connect LDAC 990 without any issue, no stuttering at all. With aptx Adaptive, it will display 'snapdragon sound device' sign if i disable LDAC codec first, and it'll like to stay on 24/48 though I can force it to go 24/96 if I wanted to and generally it will be stable enough for normal music playback. For Go Pod, LDAC 990 is very unstable and stutters all the time. It won't display 'snapdragon sound device' sign when I switched to aptx Adptive since I can't disable LDAC first (Go Pod always connects with LDAC first, then I switch it in Developer mode). Like UTWS5, it likes to stay in 24/48 and switching to 24/96 is less stable and harder to do (it will always try to reverse back to 24/48 by itself.
Given QCC5141 in UTWS5 and QCC5144 in Go Pod are pretty much identical, I think the only logical explanation for the different behavior is firmware optimization. FiiO might not be the best sounding TWS adapter anymore, they do still have a better software implementation at this point.

Looks super ergonomic. I wonder if they will add any ambient/passthrough mode? That might make me consider replacing my TW2.New KZ TWS converter, AZ20,
QCC5171 with APTX adaptive, HD and lossless.

Has the current utws5 fw got that feature?I believe Shure TWS gen 2 and FiiO UTWS5 (w/ beta firmware) both support environment / passthrough mode.
Has the current utws5 fw got that feature?
I'm not sure whether Fiio next UTWS version is coming soon but Im looking for one tws adapter to use my IEMs with, probably for now with the Andromeda with Katana and Z1R in the future so Mmcx, any recommendation? Or should I wait for a new version?
