iFi audio GO pod + IEMs = brilliant wireless sound on the GO!

Regarding the fit comfort, it will be impossible to have one earhook-to-fit-them-all due to a difference in IEMs shell design and our outer ear anatomy "design" :) I did make a note in my review about the fit comfort, and it will vary. What I would suggest for iFi, something I already mentioned to Lawrence directly, is to release another set of slightly longer modular earhooks, even 1/2" longer would improve the comfort with some smaller shell iems or for users with dumbo ears :)

Here is to demonstrate the difference, look at the tip of the ear, not much room left with VE Phoenix, causing it to pinch it while extra room with EE Odin.

Absolutely agree, this is why it has been brought up internally and is currently in discussion about different options regarding comfort for some.

I would like to take a moment to thank the folks here who have posted some solutions for those with "Comfort" issues that I think are great ideas! Folks like @Frankie Lam and @agrosash have posted some great remedies here...

Even in the Zeos review he mentions and links some adapters that may come in handy for some...

So as our development of the GO Pods continues Thank you to the folks who are helping by giving solutions in this thread, we are listening!

Cheers!!

Another side comment, cheap adapters are garbage (like the aliexpress oem stuff, I think even Linsoul resells those), while quality custom adapters cost $50-$100, and if I'm not mistaken extra earhook connectors from iFi should be around $30-$50 per pair, right? Also, adapters "adopt" from one connector type to another, they are not intended to extend the connector. So, to extend the 2pin you will need to use mmcx earhook with mmcx to 2pin adapter. And then, you also have to take into considering impedance mismatch and reflection in signal it will cause. Just saying...

But before ifi has a new ear-hook connector, it has to find a way to solve the problem of wearing pain. I hope to launch a new ear-hook connector soon

The extra ear-hooks cost £29 in the UK right now.

I could not emphasize enough the impedance mismatch...
I wish iFi Audio will give a toggle button to turn OFF the auto-detection of the impedance or allow the user to manually input impedance and sensitivity, like Qudelix does, as soon as possible!

Folks,

On the topic of Impedance matching with the GO Pods, I have received the following comment. This is not a "how" it works but "when" it works, but I feel it is important as perhaps some are not aware of it, as I honestly was not...

"The IEMs must already be attached to the Go Pods in the charging case. When the Go Pods with the IEMs are removed, the impedance matching commences."

So in a nutshell, if we are changing our IEMs and not returning them to the case for a brief moment, we could perhaps not be getting the Auto-Impedance set correctly.

Hope that quote is clear to everyone, and I didn't confuse anyone in the process.

Cheers!!

Any eta on availability in the US? Right now it's just the T2 and Pentaconn extra hooks available.

I got a reply for why my Go Pod is so unstable when running LDAC 990kbps, and I am both shocked and speechless.

Don't mind the link that said NEO Stream, it actually does point correctly to GO Pod manual, which you will find on the footnote on page 5:

Just WOW. Only mono is supported on LDAC 990kbps? Seriously? I have UTWS5 (same QCC5xxx series chip) on LDAC 990kbps with Stereo without any issue, so what is iFi excuse for not supporting it? I didn't even find that footnote anywhere on Go Pod's product page on iFi Audio website. Arguably it SHOULD have been front and center on the product page and served with a warning sign no less, but nothing instead. True shame.

The sad part is perhaps my Xperia 1 IV doesn't even support mono with TWS (True Wireless Stereo, oh the irony there), so no luck for me on LDAC 990kbps.

I have just received a reply from iFi Audio customer service, regarding the dimensions of the interior of the case. See attached.

Regarding LDAC, what I observe on my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is that I can run LDAC at 990/909kbps Stereo, without any issue, without any disconnections or sound quality degradation, indoors or outdoors. After taking the ear-hooks out of the case they immediately pair to my phone. Then I go to the Developer Options and set Bluetooth audio LDAC codec Playback Quality to Optimised for Audio Quality (990/909kbps). The Bluetooth audio channel mode is already set to Stereo. That's it! From there onwards, and for the next 7 hours, approximately, I am listening to music without any issues!

Many times during playback, I have returned to the Developer Options and checked: it still shows LDAC 990/909kbps. I also have the Bluetooth Codec Changer App. I have checked this App and it also shows LDAC 990/909kbps, Stereo. See this screenshot.

If there is some other way I can check and verify this, I do not know this.

Where can I get Ifi GO pod ear loop optional connectors? Those are listed already at Bloom Audio for instance but not a single unit available in EU territory as I see.
I set back the Bluetooth codec from LDAC to aptx adaptive since I can hear several cuts in the transmission with LDAC when I move my phone. Aptx adaptive works flawlessly and the SQ between the two indistinguishable. (or at least very close)

When I had asked about additional 0.78mm 2pin and MMCX connectors, iFi customer service told me that I would need to open a ticket to order them. This is valid for the UK, I am not sure about other regions. I have not placed an order, yet. I bought my GO Pod from the iFi Audio website in the UK.

PS: the people who are reporting LDAC connectivity/sound quality issues here, would be best if they would mention their smartphone or other device used, as well.

How do you mean open a ticket? I managed to find the Hungarian distributor but they do not list the extra loops yet.
My phone is OnePlus 9 pro.
