The Somic Thread--50mm driver open air full size cans pop out of nowhere, sound amazing

The thing is, the DT250 pads don't come with a cover over the driver grille right?  The grille covers come off with the Somic's stock pads so you would be stuck without grille covers if you use the DT250 pads unless you cut off the grille covers from the stock pads and glue them to the grille or something

Oh ok.  The stock pad comes integrated with the grille cloth though.  You can see how that is so in the pics below (copied from the OP).  So if the DT250 pads come with a separate disc of grille cloth you would have to DIY a way to secure it over the actual grille.

So the concern about the ear pads is depth, right? Can you measure how deep the pads are Joe?

They're about 18mm deep.

Just got my MH463 today, and I have to say... very impressive for a $45 headphone

The pads are removable, but I'm not sure where you'd get better replacement pads.
You could ofcourse make your own if you've got some sewing skills, a sewing machine and some fabric (like I do

)

Some pics for those curious minds: (bye-bye warranty.....)

I have sent them back, never managed to like them. I have a full review on my blog, it is an interesting headphone and very good one for the price! Meanwhile I picked up the Efi 82 MT and I love them :)
