I agree the TS VT-94A is a very good 6J5G. I am one that prefers the ST shape over the GT.
Yeah, it's about the sound, but I need a nice visual as well and the GT or metal tubes don't work for me.
Bought this tube the other day, very nice sound, but more for the reason that I already own a pair for Envy…and it just seemed logical to buy a single for the Crack! I only posting now with a few pics as I like the box. Sad I know .

Are pentodes we will turn into triodes allowed here? Since the 6c5 is just a trioded 6j7 I figure it’s fair game right? Check out this Fivre 12j7, what a looker!
Picked up some Brimar 8d2 tubes. Those are a 6j7 with the old British 7 pin base. Thought another tube I was going to get would use the same pin out so bought these. Turns out I was wrong so I’m not sure I’m willing to pay for the adapter just for these tubes. Plus they are so big I don’t think I’d be able to use the 2 8d2 to 6sn7 adapter in my amp, just my preamp. Still, they are a good looking tube.
This last tube I bought because of its reputation. The c3g tube has a sterling reputation as a driver in both pentode and triode. I have no idea how it will do as a triode and paired up to replace a 6sn7 in my amp but I’ll give it a try. I use external supplies for my amp so I was able to buy the 20v c3m instead of the more expensive 6v version.
I’ll have to order some adapters to actually use these, dunno when that’ll happen but I will report back!

What are your top 6J5 tubes? Which one is the most detailed? Best bass? I like to pair my Raytheon 6J5WGT with the Elrog ER for classical or acoustic guitar. Amazing strings.
