6J5 adapter is good. No extra power required.I was looking at the "Pasta Makers" - what adapter do they use? Do they need any extra power?

Assuming they're the Langrex ones, they're some of my favorites in my Glenn OTL so I've ordered 2 more and adapters for my Envy. More noisy than most of my tubes though.6J5 adapter is good. No extra power required.
The 6c5 has less gain value than the 6j5.I was looking at the "Pasta Makers" - what adapter do they use? Do they need any extra power?
I've heard they're prone to noise too, which is why I haven't grabbed a pair myselfAssuming they're the Langrex ones, they're some of my favorites in my Glenn OTL so I've ordered 2 more and adapters for my Envy. More noisy than most of my tubes though.
I a have a pair of the ST version of the Fivre 6C5G so a no-go in the Envy unless I snag a second pair. I love the Italian (I think) tax stamp on those!Current bass champs are these Fivre 6C5 Pasta Makers. But more sophisticated top to bottom.

Fivre wins the beauty award in my book with those tax exempt stamps. I don’t have the 6C5GT style Langrex sells, but can confirm the 6C5G (ST shape) sound fantastic. I have two pairs and one is rather noisy (still sounds good) and the other is silent. I think both are smoother than the gray or black plate Fivre 6J5GT but they all have that characteristic lush house sound. I have a Spotify playlist devoted to them called “creamy Fivre faves”.I a have a pair of the ST version of the Fivre 6C5G so a no-go in the Envy unless I snag a second pair. Now that it’s come up, I recall my Fivre were not stone quiet but sure were great bass monsters even in a modest Garage 1217 amp.
Just out of curiosity, have you tried resoldering the pins to get rid of the noise?Fivre wins the beauty award in my book With those tax stamps. Speaking of Fivre, I’m excited to try these 12J7GT when my amp/adapters arrive. Love the stamped metal bases -can’t quite make out what they say:

No I haven’t. I may try someday though now that you mention it.Just out of curiosity, have you tried resoldering the pins to get rid of the noise?
I did more than mention it....No I haven’t. I may try someday though now that you mention it.
6J5 to 6SN7 adapter. Despite the towering towers of power, they're 6C5s, same 300mA current requirements as 6J5s.I was looking at the "Pasta Makers" - what adapter do they use? Do they need any extra power?
I got mine too! Will need to order some adapters. I'm debating if I should get ones for the 8d2 as well. If I were smart I'd just stick to the *sj7 adapters for now.Fivre wins the beauty award in my book With those tax stamps. Yes, they are safe to use. Have 300mA heaters, same as 6J5 - despite the poor electrons having to swim past so many grids.Maybe not the right place to ask, but on the topic of pentodes, I see vt49 converters, may I confirm they are safe to use in a 6sn7/ecc32 slot?
I honestly just want to get a quad or 2 just for curiosity, they look pretty solidYes, they are safe to use. Have 300mA heaters, same as 6J5 - despite the poor electrons having to swim past so many grids.![]()
