The PENON official thread

When all 3 drivers came out to play…

Not many earphones render this track as well as the Globe does.

The control of the speed of that bass is so well done here, whereas in the mid region Yukimi‘s vocal are reproduced in a crystal clear/holographic fashion and lastly the micro details/treble presented complete the wide enveloping stage.

For my taste this track sounded best with a clean, neutral, detailed and decently powerful source, better still if you have a copy of this track in hi-res.

Bump up the volume while you are at it for maximum enjoyment.

Hi @slowpickr, welcome to the @Dsnuts dedicated Penon thread.
Further to your query regarding Basshead level in ears without so much compromise in the Mids & trebles
pls. allow me to introduce you to the Penon range

1. The Fans - entry level, Basshead capable in ear. for maximum Bass, i'd use Penon's very own Orange stem tips. This is commuter tested to block out subway / street noise
2. The Orbs - this pair is the Middle of the range mid priced in ear. This pair has better Bass response compared to the Fans. To complement that addictive sub-bass, we got lush full bodied mids and smooth trebles. This pair is more of full sized headphone scale of imaging than your typical in ears
3. The Globes - this pair is approaching flagship level for it fantastic tuning. Same Penon house sound for sub-bass, mids are a little on the neutral side compared to the Orbs. Trebles here are extended and overall details are better here, so is the energy / level of engagement.
As shown in the link image, the Penon Orange stem tips, this is their own silicon composition, will bring your ears to the sub-bass level joy, you might be aspiring.
Penon spoiled me with those sub-bass texture, dispersion, rumble (the Orbs in particular)
All 3 have very wide bodied staging, very good stage height, all of them out of head experience and the Globes have the best stage depth of the three.
Most importantly, all (3) meets your price range, usd. 339 for the Globes...

whilst the jvc is no doubt a gem, the Penon range is very modern when it comes to staging, wide dispersion staging, but analogue tuning tuned for very long listening sessions...

The house sound reside in the Mids, mids done right, smooth and technical with awesome bottom end and smooth, natural, non piercing trebles...

Re: E-pros Tip Inversion Mod

1. Choose any household fastening screws, threaded or anything of the kind, i chose the hex bolt
fitting the E-pro stem onto the bolt, push it upwards per arrow
IMG_20210602_020814.jpg

2. you should achieve to invert the stem upon reaching the other end of the bolt
IMG_20210602_021009.jpg

3. if @ 1st pass thro' the bolt didn't entirely invert the stem, give it another pass
it should appear as the image

4. flip the dome as well, it should look the same as the image

Our objective is to obtain the Widest bore diameter in an ear tip...
