The PENON official thread

Has anyone heard the Sound Rhyme SR5? Another headfier was promoting them heavily, and the Penon store on AE has started to carry them. It's 1DD + 4BA for $150.
Remarkable details for the price without being too treble focused, and with a nice timbre. They are very good. Also sold by Penon, which may be cheaper.

i don't know about structure or "recette" of Nicehsk Greenmood, and i don't trust blablabla claim on many Ali cables, but after more than 200 hours with Impact, this combo bring Impact with realism/tone/soundstage and holographic that i'm looking to level of the Bird
this cable will replace permanent PWA1960s, still missed the MID sweet sound with Stock Oscidian but reward with the "ALL" around elements combine elevate Impact to the level i really enjoy, and for the first time over 30 trial all kind of Haldane/CEMA/Penon/Hakugei .. THIS cable worth every penny i spend for, cheap doesn't mean bad, just synergy after all
note: not very expensive to trial when Ali sale event happen again, and take note i'm always treat all my cables with thin coat of stabilant 22, and @F700 maybe right 8 strands cable may does the trick
Is the greenmood 4-wire, and is it soft / supple and easy to manage?

Wow thanks for the answer and the time you took to be so specific, that was really helpful! 🙌🔥😃 I Almost bought the Glove for few weeks back, but now I'd rather go for Est50 or maybe for the
Globe & the 50s'
If they're approaching the Volts level, then it's a logical choice for the better.
ISN quality can hold out on their own...

As one who has tried both the Globe and EST50 I prefered the EST50.
Sub bass where similar, while the mid bass actually were thicker on Globe.
Mids were to me very similar, both have very gentle pina gain. Vocals slightly more forward on Globe.
Treble actually sharper on Globe than EST50, while ultimate detail and soundstage goes to EST50.

In a way you can almost see the Globe as a baby EST50, but they have their small differences that could make both worth owning.

Worth the asking price, matter of fact their lineup are gems in itself. Very efficient. Great bass response and mids. And the treble is airy without being fatiguing. With a cable and ear tip roll...it becomes scary with how well this can beat some of the $1k+ USD iems with similar driver configuration.

Thank you. How is the tonality... do they sound real? That's probably my favorite thing with these Penons.

Look how far we've come.

The Serial reminds me of the Denon D7200.
Wait till you find out how many different cables sound sublime with them!

Tonality and timbre are close to real life for a set that cost $150 USD, suprisingly.

I compared to the Effect Audio GAEA, which a decisive IEM in itself and costing $1300 USD retail. It beats it in every regard.

The SR5 has better and more rumbling bass, the part where GAEA should excel, female vocals, SR5 meets or exceeds at a lower cost, treble is non fatiguing and not sibilant unlike the GAEA. The only thing the GAEA has is the techinicalties, which gets minimized by ear tip and cable rolling.

I rolled the cable and it was scary to me how well the SR5 responsed to it with increase technicalities in comparsion to the GAEA. I almost couldn tell the difference. And if you had a normal everyday person listen to both, I can guarantee you they wouldnt be able to tell the difference.

If I had to put a number on it, IMO, with a cable and ear tip roll, the SR5 can meet up to 80-85% of GAEA technicalities at a fraction of the cost.

2pin SR5 vs GAEA pentaconn. SR5 is easier to cable roll. It fits in my ear better. I cannot praise it enough; futhermore, the efficiency makes it easy to use 3.5mm single end and plug it into a phone and sound great.

P.S. - It Glows in the dark.

That really hurts to see! You have my sympathy having to do that.
I thought hard about it... like what if I just cut the connectors off and I could resolder after. But I knew what they really wanted to see.

6-inch DIY Penon cable for sale. PM for details.
