I just got the orb for about 2 days, and have the mangird tea for about couple of weeks now, I personally prefer the orb, it just has a more musical and non-fatiguing sound signature. With the tea, you have to burn it in for at least 50 hours to get decent bass, but orb comes with excellent sub-bass right out of the box. The mids on the mangird tea is very detailed and textured, but can become fatiguing after a while, so for vocals I do prefer the slightly warmer presentation of the orb than the tea. But the tea has better treble extension than the orb, and a wider soundstage. Overall detail and imaging also goes to the tea, so for people who love details I would go for the tea. It has a more neutral sound signature overall, but bit less fun than the orb. Mangird tea is also a bit harder to drive than the orb
I will probably put the Mangird Tea up for sale soon, so if anyone is interested, you can pm me for details.
Just got the Tea a week ago haven't find any time for a listen yet, but as far as the ORBs goes I loved them right out of the box. Very engaging signature with incredible vocal presentation and tight fast accurate bass reproduction. I think details are in general overestimated in the iem world, coherency and consistency in sound matters more as far as my small experience suggests indicates...
Penon have allot of experience. In this market there is brands who know what they doing and some brands who haven’t got a clue but wing it. Penon are one of the brands who know what they doing. I see them becoming a real contender.
Indeed bro...
THE ORBS are a clear example of that, with only two drivers gained what others cannot with much more complex implementation. A complete and much musical sound experience. For one DD/BA iem the ORBS work miracles...

I’d like to read your impressions on the Tea and the Orb (sounds like a children’s book title) after you’ve had a chance to listen to the Tea for a while.

Agree with this. The ORB has a sum-greater-than-its-parts sound. Kind of like the B400 for me - it just sounds goooood.
I really got into my music (my sub-bass list) last night while walking my dog, and I noticed the ORB performs extremely well at high volumes. The sound quality the majority of my IEMs suffer at really high volumes, but the ORB seem to improve - especially the size of the soundstage. Got a massive dome effect with the ORB cranked way up on some DJ Shadow (Three Ralphs). Just awesome.
Does someone else see flowers in that cable? When graphic representation gets too far... hopefully the cable will sound as good as it looks. Good to see Penon widening their game. As a webshop, they deliver. I don’t know their own products, but I wish them best of luck. Long lasting customer here.
As far as their own product line in cable goes, all are excellent, whatever they pitched, they delivered.
i bought from them, leo plus, os849 2020 version, GD849, Neo.
i've been buying from them since 2016, incl the 819...
It pairs very well!
Very much like a full size headphone.
Great bass (NO bloat!), very good detailed mids & treble extended.
Wide soundstage.
I'm just using the stock cables & Xelastec tips...

Glad you mentioned that up about the volume...
Me too, been trying to crank up the volume in pure loudness level up there with the ORBS, just to be sure that there is not a hint of a grainy sound in the treble area (to be more precise man) ...
I was kind of worry about that at first listen, though I was really fond of their tuning, just stucked somehow in my mind the idea at first auditions that there might be some congestion / grainy sound on much higher volumes. Nit picking stuff though...
But somehow I was not sure on that matter.... I just wanted to get other peoples opinions as well on this....
Your opinion was of much help on this..... I think orb's sound is just fantastic & perfect as well....

Yeah I think I ll do that really soon man... I am planning about that and comparing them to H40 as well.... (H40 happens to be my gold standard as far as tuning goes.. My all time personal fav. )
They are not similar at all. Orbs have tighter bass smaller stage better imaging. Ikko Oh10 are a lot more aggressive big soundstage, peakier highs, aggressive mids. Orbs if you want a more natural sounding iem Ikko if you want a more exaggerated, pumped up sound
