Oh yea I know what your talking about. The roundness of the bud itself can cause hot spots inside the concha of the ear. If that was your main concern. The conductor will fit you much better as it is physically smaller more compact physically, though it houses a rather larger 14.2mm dynamic.

Conductor bottom right corner. Penon BS1 left bottom and TGX Serratus on top. Serratus is actually common size for buds and it is much larger in comparison.
My Rikubuds Caster 3 has the pk39(?) housing and they too also cause discomfort, I hope these are a little smaller.😀

Should the Conductor thread be blended into this one? It be easier to access information if it is in 1 place.

My Conductors have been traveling the world (being mis~handled by USPS) and finally decided to be delivered today.

IF they sound as good, relatively speaking as the Fan3s, I won't be getting much sleep over the next few days!

Rival is the best bass implimentation I have ever heard in an IEM format. The Shock has similar impact and extension but Rival bass takes literal bass definition to another realm. They truely sound like real sub woofers in the ears. How you hear a seperated subs from a nice 5.1 system for example.

However the Shocks bass. It is excellent, one of the all time best bass experiences at its price level. Its not quite at the level of my IER-Z1R, though it can punch harder, its quality is good there as well but its not exactly at my benchmark for quality bass in the IER-Z1R.

Never in my wildest dreams I would have thought Penon of all folks would come up with a bass implimentation that beats the IER-Z1R but I have to give them credit. They went all out on the new Rival.

The Rose Masya Mk II (Pro) with the Penon OS133 cable, The Penon Conductor with the NiceCHK Snow Ag cable. The Rose Masya has a 16mm and a 10mm DD driver, The Penon Conductor has a 14.2mm N55 Sapphire Diaphragm Dynamic driver and an 11.2mm bone conduction driver. I bought both from Penon. Very similar sounds. The Sapphire Conductor with the pure Silver cable has slightly more impactful mid-bass, but the Rose Masya Mk II has slightly cleaner treble and slightly cleaner bass. The mids are so very, very similar. Fit of the Rose Masya is un peu.....easier, but both have to be flat contacting the Concha to get the deep bass impact. If you don't get the Concha contact, bass will be reduced and the special effect that both these buds produce is to create very forward bass. Both surprisingly have deep sub-bass (Hans Zimmer, The Dark Knight 3min 26 seconds onward). Seeing that the Rose Masya Pro is my reference bud, then the the Penon Conductor is definitely it's equal.

I am listening to FAN3 from RS2, this cheap combo is amazing, easily I can talk away from this hobby with just FAN3/RS2.

However the Shocks bass. It is excellent,
you wouldn't happen to know how the SHOCK is against UM Mest or Mext do you?

I'm looking to grab Shock as a replacement for my Lost Mext so I'm trying to set proper expectations Bass wise, I'm hoping it rumbles my head like Mext does

I have the OG Mest. Shocks bass has more weight and is more decisive not to mention you have the ability to crank it or lower it to what your mood is. Coaxial bass is no joke my friends I am sold on Coaxial bass. Non coaxial bass there is a drop off. You dont get the exact same power or defininition. If you got the shock coming to you. Your gonna be happy with the Shocks bass. Then you add them Bone conduction drivers. Game over.
