Oh yea me too. I use cheapo JVCs myself. The JVC FXC51 are a marvel at $25 and my newest HAFX1X @ 20 is my current BASS champs. As for the comparo. I only have the AD700 which are good phones but lack bass and perhaps some balance..My Panasonic RP-HT770/ HTF890 actually beat the AD700 in what it does. These have a more balance as the bass can be heard and even felt on certain tunes. The clarity is very similar but has better balance than the AD700 with a bit more bass impact.. The HT770/HTF890s also have angled drivers but sound more like a standard driver than angled. I don't think you will actually get an upgrade by getting one of these over your AD900s As from what I understand about the AD900s are that they fix all the issues of the Ad700s If you wanted to get a similar sounding open phone for a gift to a loved one..I can definitely recommend one of the Panasonics.. Now these HTF600s however are completely different sounding all together.
Oh and you know what. I will show you something that will surprise you since you mentioned cheapo earphones. $7.11 at monoprice 8320 sound like $150 headphones. @ monoprice.com I might have to do a write up on these as well but for now back on topic. lol..
LOL... to be honest, my IEMs aren't exactly cheapo! but they are still Panasonics and Sonys
Thanks for the comparison btw. Like Libertad said, you need to do a detailed proper review on the Panasonics so they get more exposure. I'm sure many HeadFiers will be grateful for it
