My favorite traditional metal bands include: Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Queensryche, Metallica. Of course everyone has their own internal concept of genres such as what should be classified as metal or hard rock. Then there are all the subgenres, with the various opinions on those.Creating this thread for fans of Traditional heavy metal bands:
Post and share your favorite:
*NWOBHM
*NWOTHM
*Speed
*Thrash
*Melodeath
*Power
*Viking
*Pagan
*Doom
*Folk
*Prog
Etc........
Kindly refrain from Black Metal/Metal lacking some sort of melody/Brvtal Bro stuff as there is already another thread for that, which you can find here:

For example Jethro Tull infamously won an award as best heavy metal band, some years ago. I'm a big fan of Jethro Tull. I just never thought of them as heavy metal. Guns N' Roses, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith (early years), Led Zeppelin, Scorpions and others would also be included on my list. I'm not sure if these are all classified as heavy metal or not. Then there is Blue Oyster Cult - one of my all time favorite bands. Back in the 70s, they were referred to as the "Heavy Metal Masters". I never really thought of them as a metal band either. Oh well...
