any budget amp suggestion for 325i?

i'm going to be using comptuer as my source and looking to upgrade my soundcard as well. I'll probably upgrade my sound card first and get an amp much later so if you guys have any suggestions, let me know. thanx

I think the RA-1 (grado amp) sounds very good with these cans. You can find them on ebay for a reasonable price and if your a DIY guy at all you can build it for about $40.

Dear fellow 325i owners....

Just wondering what your thoughts are about burn in with these little golden gems?

10 hours?, 100 hours? , 400 hours? ,No need burn in doesn't exist?

I'd say ... 300 hours..for maximum enjoyment.

i'm pretty damn confused on that^. sometimes when i listen to my music i think, "hmm...this sounds as if it's a bit altered, possibly from the burn-in." other times i think, "What? there's no such thing as burn-in." what makes it worse is that i listen to my music a lot when i smoke the herb. so... what i mean to say is: burn in only exists when you're smoking the herb. you don't like they way your phones sound? perhaps in denial? burn-in is what people convince themselves of when they're unsatisfied with their headphones.

Have you guys read this mini review of the RS1 vs RS2 vs SR325i ?

http://www.goodcans.com/HeadphoneReviews/gradobig3.htm

Now I am wondering has anyone done a comparision of the 325i vs HP1, both are aluminium chambers, how much difference can just the driver make ?

Personally, I think once we reached the 325i's level we are getting diminishing returns with the RS series which costs $200 and $400 more and thats even more through Canadian distributors.

The cost for Grados in Canadian dollars does not reflect the US exchange rate, many places actually sell for more than the MSRP, a first that I ever seen this, normally street prices are less.

Recently, I sold SR80s on eBay to Canadian bidders for the same or more than the MSRP, now that says something.

The suggested MRSP in Canada, US exchange in brackets and US MSRP:

SR60 $119 ($103.69us) $69.99us
SR80 $159 ($138.25us) $94.99us
SR125 $199 ($172.82us) $149.99us
SR225 $269 ($233.30us) $199.99us
SR325i $389 ($336.99us) $299.99us
RS2 $649.99 ($561.67us) $499.99us
RS1 $899.99 ($777.70us) $699.99us
GS1000: $1299.99 ($1123.34us) $999.99us

Thats highway robbery !

In Canada, The Audio Group in Montreal is the Grado distributor, they make a cut on top of the US MSRP.

Hope you didn't pay full price for your pair of 325i ? I know a gentleman in the US that will sell direct at great prices. I got my 325i for $235us thats about $272cdn which is even cheaper than the US MSRP !

Owner #5544 reporting in. Just got em today from TTVJ. I have a big goofy grin on my face listening to them. I don't know how many people told me the highs were too harsh, quick listening fatigue, blah blah blah. I know it's been said 1,564,397 times on this forum, but it's true...let your ears make the decision, not someone's opinion..
