Just got them. Wow what can i say?

Heres a list of things from transitioning from the AD700 to the 325is straight out of the box.

1. More impactful bass.
2. Tad bit more sparkle in the highs.
3. Mids sound somewhat the same.
4. Barely noticible decrease in soundstage.
5. Not as comfortable, but not as uncomfortable some say. Does hurt my ears a little bit after 2 hours of listening.
5. Music is more enjoyable.

Great headphones! Can't wait to hear their potential after their full burn in.

Ambient/Atmospheric/Wallpaper music sounds so delicious with these phones, flat but delicious, just like pizza :p

Sometimes, I also use them at work and on my macbook. I'm thinking about building an amp for them.

I'm probably going to have to change the cable out in my new Grado SR325is headphones due to 4 feet just being too short. Chatting with just a few people, I have been told that Grado's own cable is not very good at one end of the spectrum, to upgrading headphone cables doesn't really help in that specific application.

What is the experience here?

I only need about 8 feet total, so I could look for a short extension cable. On the other hand, I would think it'd be better to have a consistent run of one type of cable.

Cost of recabling at places like Moon Audio seems awfully high, costing almost as much as the headphones themselves.

I'd recommend a recable since an extension cable means depending on another connection point. I've had one bad experience with a bad connection with an extension cable. Admittedly a 1/4" extension connector shouldn't be as problematic as a 1/8" extension connector.

I was going to suggest Moon-Audio too. I know, they're pricey. The alternative would be to build your own cable and install it.

Depends on what you mean by 'too one dimensional'. What do you want out of your new cans that the 325is didn't offer?
