I used the T1s with the HA160 for a few months and its a decent combo. Very detailed/analytical sound compared to a tube amp but the problem is the midrange can sound slightly thin. Definitely decent though without being spectacular.

Bean listening to them all night.  Fairly pleased with the sound out of the 160D, they don't sound that cold to me, though I don't have a tube amp to compare them on.  I guess I would agree that the mid range is a bit thin, however if you hadn't said that its probably not something I would have noticed.  Overall happy with them thus far.

Based on my experiences, the thin midrange is a remnant of the 160D with the T1s (not my favourite amp with them). I find their mid-range fullness one of their best attributes. They do sound best on a really good tube amp (like the WA2), but also sound pretty good from the Audio gd Phoenix or HeadAmp GS-1 (for a SS option).

+1 for the GS-..................... the T-1s also sound very good with an M^3/Sigma and a plain old Woo3.

Radiohead sounds great on the T1s, especially Ok Computer. The Bends is also really nice.

Are you saying that FrankI sold his T1??? What replaced the Beyer?

Unfortunately I needed to free up some money for bills that i wanted gone. I am using the HE500 and D7000 and will have a HD650 soon. I also sold the RSA amp which I used to buy the HD650and finish the balance with the on a credit card. I hate debt.

Sorry to hear about your financial issues. Hope they get sorted out quickly. I just wanted to thank you again for helping me with my T1 purchase at the end of last year. Thanks a lot!

I tried tugging the ear pads pretty hard and they still won't come off. Is there a specific area I should be grabbing?

Done in 10 seconds :)

Just take the earpad and pull it off. There is no resistance at all..
