Can anyone recommend a good carry case that can take 2 or 1 iem and a dap (sp2000) . Thanks
We love pelican, we started carrying a pelican case on our site. One thing you can do is buy a pelican case with custom foam to be able to hold multiple IEMs and a DAP. https://www.pelicanfoam.com

I tested the mX modules with the A18s and unfortunately I cannot recommend them. The reduction in bass is significant and the image seems to be less sharp. While I typically avoid using equalizers in the digital domain, it may be the best solution and a necessary tradeoff with M15 module. Having tried the A18s from a range of sources I still feel it lacks ever so slightly in ultimate detail and resolution.

Tia Trio purchased! About a 2 week wait for production but looking forward to hearing it finally. Hopefully I can get a good seal, didn’t have the best of luck with the Noir.

Good luck! If you can get a good fit and seal, and since you love Z1R, there’s a high chance you’ll love Trio

I did exactly that for two of my daps with battery and wall charger and cables.

It's weird, going from memory (since I now haven't owned either the z1r or trio in a few months), I hear things differently than @macdonjh in that the trio was always the sharper one of the two to me. I know. A lot of people find the treble on the z1r can run a bit hot, so perhaps the sharpness I heard on the trio was due to the attack from the tia ba drivers vs the dd tweeter treble on the z1r.

Regardless though, I got the z1r first, and just like with the nio, the trio is one I likely wouldn't have even bothered with if the fit was better for me. Both have the same sort of mild v shaped signature that I think it's probably a bit redundant to go for the other if you already have one you like unless there happens to be some specific qualities you are looking for that one might have over the other.

Since you already have and enjoy the z1r and more importantly, it fits well, then as good as the trio is, probably not a lot of reason to add a relatively similarly tuned and similar performing iem to your lineup.

I do miss both my z1r and trio though.
After keeping up with this thread for a bit more than a year, I know I'm in the minority as to how the Trio sounds to me. Treble is certainly extended and detailed, but to me sweet and airy, never sharp or harsh. At least with my A&K DAP. It does get a bit sharp, and to me loses some magic, when I pair it with my Questyle.

I think that comparison of yours was one of the ones that pushed me over the edge get the Z1R. I don't find the treble harsh at all, I think a lot has to do with tip and insertion depth... but saying that, when experimenting with various insertion depths and tips I never found any harshness. But yeah, after years of reading about both I would tend to agree that they seem more alike than dissimilar.
i don't find the Z1R treble harsh, just sharper, or more insistent, or something, than the Trio. I like the Z1R, agree with you and @mashuto that Trio and Z1R are more similar than different. I'd recommend one to somebody who had heard the other and couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger but couldn't put his finger on why.

Oh wow that looks neet.
I love the color just like my truck. Wonder if I can order just the foam as I got the case already

These comments and @gLer favourably contrasting the Nio with the Trio, plus the fact that I was trolled for my aggressive Z1R sales terms :grimacing: :confounded: have sealed it's fate.

I'm going to keep it and see if I can fall in  with it.

It is Christmas after all!

Hello @64Audio,

I was wondering what the correct polarities are on the pins of the stock cable

And whether inverting them would change the response of the IEM

Regards,
Anshin

Professional cable has red/blue dots for Right/Left sides and when attached both should be facing back. Plus, if you look very close at the connector mold, it is slightly angled to show you which way the cable should be bent over the ear.

Premium cable already has a shaped angled mold with L/R marking, again, only goes one way to wear over the ears.

There is no way to mess it up. Unless if you want to flip Professional cable with dots facing forward, also not a problem as long as both are flipped the same way, though I noticed a slight reduction in soundstage width when reversed. But if you don't flip both the same way, you will hear a phasing effect.

That would make the drivers respond in inverted phase, pushing when the should be pulling, right?

Actually, I just tried U12t (all BA) and Nio (DD/BA hybrid) with LPGT and professional cable and dots facing forward and then back, and the only difference I hear is in soundstage width. So, when polarity is reversed, soundstage shrinks just a bit.

Hi, good question. Looks like someone posted a photo of the correct positioning of the cables. To answer your other question, theoretically (and practically) as long as both sides are wired the same, you will not hear a difference. Again, we don't want to refute anyone's claims of subjectively perceiving a difference. We make it easy to not worry about this a whole lot by building our cables in a way that makes the polarity obvious.
