Quick question to current and previous owners of the U4SE - can the U4SE take both ADEL and Apex modules? Or did it come in two variants (one that can use both and one that can take only the newer Apex)?
The U4SE can take both the APEX and ADEL modules. I found it particularly good with the M15 module. Good bass and still has huge soundstage.
The M20 was a bit more closed in for me, but had more bass.

The old original version did accept both modules, but I believe the later one only could take APEX. So, I would double check with 64 Audio about the one they sell now (B-stock?) or if you're buying it second-hand, to make sure which module it accepts.

I initially wrote 'the original U4SE' but changed it since I didn't think that 64Audio created a second APEX only version of the U4SE, I've only seen them in B stock.
Thought they were just left over originals. Either way it's one fantastic IEM, punches way above it's weight class.

Original U4SE accepted both, that's the one I got for review right before MassDrop in August of 2017. But I was told that newer version will be APEX only since they dropped support of ADEL. And yeah, price/performance ratio is excellent here!

are orange (solid) apex units avaliable for purchase separately (from the ear plugs)?
Last time I heard they don’t offer them separately unless you purchased an earplug. That maybe changed. If your out of luck I think I have some laying around my Lab I could give you. I don’t use them.

I asked 64 Audio if they would change faceplates of the Fourte to the Trio for a fee and sadly they said no. I really wish the color scheme was swapped.

Hi, we do not sell our orange (solid) module separately from the solid earplug. Our solid modules do not include apex. The sound signature of our IEMs is designed with apex technology specifically. Using a module that completely plugs the apex port will alter the intended the sound signature. You will also lose the benefit of the pressure relief that apex provides.

Has anyone compared the U4-SE and the U10? Looking at the sound signatures it seems like the latter would be the "logical" step up (U8 and U12 both being more bass dominant, especially the U8). Is the U10 equally punchy and clear / dynamic as the U4 or is it a little more laid back / refined?

Yeah I’m not sure it’s worth it anymore since they say it’s 4-6 weeks from when they receive your impressions. I’m already a week and a half into that.

I don't think they are doing rush orders because of the Black Friday orders, BUT, Its still 4-6 weeks, I know it took mine almost three weeks to get into production, but it has been moving quickly now and its still in the 4-6 week window.. I had concerns and they let me know that the tme it spends in pre-production is factored into the 4-6 weeks.. so don't sweat it, you will still get them in that window..

Just submitted my A12T order, excited for my first pair of CIEMs. Hopefully the wait time isn't too bad once those Black Friday orders are completed, they'll probably finish a bunch of them by the time my impressions are shipped.
