I'm a very-non-secret admirer of the A18s. 'Just gave them another listen for a cable test (and funsies, of course) the other day, and they're still as arresting as ever. It may not be everyone's cup of tea (as nothing ever is), but they're as good a fit as any for my personal tastes.
Probably just because they’re “old” now, don’t think they’re underrated at all. One of my all time favorite IEMs when I had it. Paired with a PW 1950s and SP2000 it was awesome!
Not sure if I posted a comparison before but briefly...
I find these 2 iems to have very different tonality. The A18s is a warmer version of the A18t and to my ears the A18s even sounds closer in character to the U12t but in a more refined way with a little bit more details but still maintaining the warm tuning. The A18t is a more reference sounding iem with tons of details excellently revealing the texture of the vocals and instruments...the downside is it highly exposes the flaws of bad or not so good recordings. Tuning in the bass is also different as A18s favors the sub bass while the A18t favors the mid bass.

Does the soundstage presentation differ between t and s? One of the characters I like about s is that the music is centered in front of you rather than surrounding your head. I find that very natural and pleasing.
