Chilling with my U18T... :)

These don't get talked about so much.. Underrated maybe?

😛😃 Oh they look like they are flying! Beautiful

Not sure if I posted a comparison before but briefly...

I find these 2 iems to have very different tonality. The A18s is a warmer version of the A18t and to my ears the A18s even sounds closer in character to the U12t but in a more refined way with a little bit more details but still maintaining the warm tuning. The A18t is a more reference sounding iem with tons of details excellently revealing the texture of the vocals and instruments...the downside is it highly exposes the flaws of bad or not so good recordings. Tuning in the bass is also different as A18s favors the sub bass while the A18t favors the mid bass.

Thanks! Intriguing intriguing O would thought that T would be more cleaner in mid bass and offer more sub but you are saying s has more sub and less mid bass? Hmmm

So the s is not like noir then? Cause for me the mid-bass in noirs is overkill in my opinion and I was under the impression that s would be similar

Does the soundstage presentation differ between t and s? One of the characters I like about s is that the music is centered in front of you rather than surrounding your head. I find that very natural and pleasing.
That's my perception of it as well. It's why I enjoy it a lot for mixing. It reminds me of the near-fields my uncle has in his studio. I compared the two (spatially too) on my review of the A18s.

Thanks to @riverground who made me discover this fabulous pairing between fourté and 1z! Very lovely and well matched, synergy here top notch!

I listened to these the whole evening. I believe I've sung its praises before, but I love it. Very detailed, wide soundstage, effortless and natural sounding, lovely vocals, nice sub-bass. I don't really miss a dynamic driver either.

Fourté arrived. Technically the most impressive IEM i've heard so far but it has indeed problems nailing the tonality of some upper frequencys like for example string instruments.

Was surprises me is that i like Trio and Fourte even though i usually disliked hybrids due to the incoherence. I don't notice any in these two though. These are the most expensive hybrids i've heard by far though.

I think i know why i perceived the U18t as warm while others don't. Contrary to the U12t and the Trió the U18t doesn't have the LID technology. This should mean that since i use my smartphone as a source the U12t and Trió correct the sound signature of my most probably not perfectly neutral smartphone out while the U18t don't.

When i plug them into my Gustard ×16 + THX887 desktop setup they change indeed to a more neutral signature while the U12t basically remains the same.

Technically the U12t gains more though. The U18t still sounds some kind of blended.

Just got a 2016 Tia Fourte (with more brown color on housing rather than orange). it's been 5 years since the last time I heard this stuff, and oh boy, how nostalgic it is (in super good way). The old fourte have a little different sound tuning, it's less punchy on bass, with sweeter midrange and treble. You can say it is a more "polite" or more relax sounding Fourte.

I think I should go back to Fourte again, after sold my Fourte (bought at 2017) for U18S.

Has anyone paired either the Eletech Prudence or Plussound X6 cable with the Nio? Or any other cable suggestions in the ~$300 price range? I'm currently using a cheap-o TRIPOWIN C8 cable and it's beginning to oxidize. Looking for something a bit higher quality that pairs well with the Nio. Not necessarily looking for any sound improvement (I don't think I can hear much in the way of sound differences between cables) but something that isn't microphonic, won't oxidize, is pliable / flexible and will stand up to daily use. Terminated in 4.4mm.

Which composition of the x6? I’d imagine that the Silver+gold would pair really well with Nio as it does with the Lx.

I was looking at the silver plated copper wire. The silver+gold unfortunately pushes the cable out of my budget (jumps from $325 to $525).
