Remember it's a manufacturer claim for the battery life of its own product ... I guess 12 hours is more accurate, but maybe different scenarios will yield better results. Using the digital out and reducing the analog out volume to zero for instance. I know it helps on my T51, but that might not be the case here.

Ok, 16hrs, down to 12hrs, maybe 10hrs real world runtime. Hmm,...I think I'll pass.

If the sound is on on par with the DX100 or better (doubt it but I can dream) and the UI is bug free I may be on board. Either that or Hifiman 901.

My interpretation of a part of the review translated with google:
 
"AK100 has a better clarity compared to the DX100, but the overall expression of music is better with the DX100. This may be due to the amplifier of DX100 or the ES9018 chip."
