Anyone going to buy one and test it out?

The memory space doesnt seem to be a problem with dual cards now i just need to know how long the battery lasts :p
Probably wont beat my X7 which only requires a 20 minute charging once every 10 days or so but im hoping it can at least get to at least 20 hours non-continuous playback :/

i'm going to make it ALLL mine! oh well this nips in the bud my experimentation with DSP based DIY digital out daps, no time when there is something like that. has it got remote? thats one of my favorite features of the ihp120 that I use to this day with my portable dacs

Please tell the features that are not listed, if you know them.

nah I dont have any more info, but I do think i'll get one if the price isnt utterly stupid. I dont need or want the dac or the amp, so still a bit miffed at the huge size.

I need more info before I decide, maybe I wont can my research into DIY SD card players just yet. my first mod would be to remove that stupid volume knob, given i'll be using digital out its meaningless to me and just makes it vulnerable. nevermind the fact the WM8740 has a good inbuilt digital volume control, why bother with an analogue one unless you are just pandering to illogical buyers who still havent caught up with the technology and prefer the type of small analogue pot that can fit inside portable devices with all its flaws

From what I can guess :

LI-Po battery, 2000mAh 3.7V, given for 16 hours of run time with 16bits/44.1kHz FLAC. Battery doesn't seem user serviceable, but the pics show screws, so it should be possible to open it fairly easily.

Dimensions and weight 59.2mm X 79mm X 14.4mm, 122g.

2.4" IPS screen

The overall design is very close to the H1X0/H3X0 series.

Thanks French. The UI is probably close to what iRiver has/had. It does not seem to play as high
a res as the DX100. 16/44.1 is what iPod > CLAS/Fostex HP-P-1 can play.

Of course one of the great +s is one device not 2 or 3.

Hope we find out more, soon.

I was only giving the battery playtime at 16/44.1. The max the player can do is 24/192.

I didn't bother copying the sounds specs, as everything is stated "No load". Might as well say that your car can do 200 MPH without a driver ...

If I ever needed proof that portable gear is all about novelty and having the 'latest and greatest', your post is that proof. When I think of the wild enthusiasm which greeted the arrival of the DX100 - well, lets just say it was only a matter of time. We laugh at the folk who stand in queues outside Apple stores to get the latest iDevice, but are Head-Fiers really in a position to do that ? I'm sure you had your reasons for getting rid of the DX100, but I'd like to see some actual impressions on the sound quality of this gizmo before I allow myself to get swept up in the hysteria ......

I feel the same. The DX100 is not perfect by any means but so far as a DAP it has come the closest bearing sound quality is the main priority while not making too many compromises (yet there are still a few that need to be addressed)....

So the same as a Rockboxed Clip+ or Clip Zip......
