The New iRiver/Astell & Kern AK100: A High-End DAP

Is the battery available outside iRiver? If so, where? Has anyone changes theirs by themselves?

I was only able to find it on aliexpress for $7.86 http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6745429240.html (seller name: weiyu li). It is exactly the same battery, size and markings, as in AK100.

Its very easy to change the battery by your self, iRiver made it very simple.

Many thanks for your help!!!!

Have installed the firmware now and the update is great, finally Iriver addressing some serious issues with this update. Hopefully they keep on coming.

VBR mp3s now play correctly, or at least on the few I tired which gave clipping before. Text not fitting on screen now has been resized to fit.

I believe he meant to say, how long before the battery or any other part needs changing.

My experience with portable devices was that devices that required daily charging had signs of depleted battery capacity after one year. The devices were still usable but ran noticeably shorter times. When it come to lithium batteries, the number of complete charge cycles determines their total life span.

By inference, devices charged every other day should have noticeable lower battery capacity in 2 years.
