I just bought a used AK100 for $375 (not Mk2) and thought it's a great deal. Aaaarrrrgghhhhh

with the help of a lovely Japanese friend I was able to acquire a Japan only sapphire blue AK100 Mk2 (old form but 3 Ohms) for $420 brand new. Am looking forward to put it against the used AK100 Mk1 coming in as well (couldn't cancel it). Will end up with two but hey, what can you do, one to sell locally.
 
Is it just me or isn't it weird that the old form factor is still being sold? Following the Apple model and selling the old versions with a discount is good imho as the accessories makers still have business and the used prices don't tank totally

I personally like the old form factor vs new.  Love its size. I really dig that blue and that is a great price for a MK2 version. Pity that they don't come with a matching color leather case to protect it like a standard MK2 package.  The matching blue case are harder to find and adds $50 to the total price, but worth the price, IMO.

Convert to 2.8MHz & see ? ) (sorry I can't be more specific, I don't use DSD files).

the AK100 1st gen only supports 2.8

Just want to ask what language is the interface for the Sapphire AK100 MK11? English or Japanese? I'm currently eyeing it too.
 
EDIT: Just saw on an ebay page listing for the sapphire model that it comes with 7 languages, so I should be safe

Hi,

Don't know yet, will only receive it Sunday or Monday. As far as I know the interface is multilingual and can be changed easily. There is only one firmware available that contains all languages. Crossing fingers

Hi, I have an issue with my ak100 its refuses to turning on. Tried to reset but it didn't help. Also a computer when connected didn't recodnize it as any device and its not recharging itself as there is nothing on monitor. It's completely dead ( Anyone have experienced same broblem could point me on what to do next? Maybe some tweaks? I bought it from ebay new 2 month ago there is white sticker with numbers on the device I think it's warranty number. Thanks in advance!

When you say the reset didn't help, did the unit show any life whatsoever? If not, you've only got a few options, e.g. send it in for repair, or open it up yourself and poke around. Perhaps the battery is disconnected or dead, but the AK100 can function without any battery power if it's connected to USB power.
