What are you looking for in said DAP? What features do you need?

my list of "wants" is not too long.  Just want it to sound good, be fairly easy to load music on to and easy to use.
It would be sweet if it had wifi capability but I haven't seen that yet in a portable audio player (except phones) and probably not realistic in my price range.

I have X2 and ED9 but not really in mood to post thoughts in detail about the pairing. Wonderful day ended with something unexpected. Maybe will post tomorrow if someone wants specific details.
 
In brief the pairing is good with lot of details and can be adjusted to suit variety of tastes using combinations of ED9 filters and X2's equalizers (EQ implementation on X2 is really good, doesn't probably degrades SQ). In short terms I'd say this combo is super flexible.

Pobably not on par with Fiio stuff, but formidable and won't drain the phone battery. The IEMs are bonus and have $60+ dollar sound IMHO.

BTW, have you seen their new super small amp?
Most people say that the X2 sound quality is on par with Fiio X1, for half to price...just need to deal with the bad UI.
Wonder what they could have done with a US$32 portable amp...

Didn't realize you guys were talking about xDuoo X2.  Why is it a big "mobile" deal for $55 when Penon always sells if for that much? http://penonaudio.com/xDuoo-X2
 
Actually, all this talk about X2 got me excited, so I dust it out, just upgraded to the latest fw V6, and... realized how much I DON'T miss its controls and gui

  The sound is pretty good and it has a nice metal build with a great oled screen, but the interface and logistics of controls is no-go...
