I bought this $80++ DIY iem from Taobao and it turned out to be a major disappointment. Telephonic sound with very little bass. Sigh...

Wait, that was a DIY project where they took SE535 clear plastic shell from Lunashops and stuffed it with BA drivers, right?  Is this MMCX connector?  If it's a silver-plated cable, at least you can get some use out of it as Hisoundfi pointed out.  That is a problem where some people think just because they got the right ingredients now they have a recipe to cook awesomesause

I'm sadly disappointed with the t2.

I was hoping for a more balanced upgrade to the t1e. This is nowhere near the case.

I often time try to find positives in something I buy. There's nothing regarding sound quality that I can say is impressive. The build quality is cool, but the buck stops there.

The sound is stuffy, fuzzy, lacking resolution and extension IMHO, and can't hang with much less expensive stuff that I have.

I wish I had better news to report. I wanted these to be a success as much as anybody who bought them.

I would rank this the least enjoyable hybrid earphone I have, and lesser resolution and SQ than my ax35.

I'm in the same boat about the T2, their sound is just so weird and disconnected. It's like they made the T2 not to make a worthwhile iem but just to have a hybrid iem with their brand on the market. I am not going to get the T2 pro until I see impressions first about them.

Saw the dunu Titan was at massdrop so might jump on them then chill out with getting more headphones for a while. Not too interested in other things maybe except the Havi b6 and za duoza.

I burned them in overnight.

Didn't yield much in terms of the sound changing this morning. I'm checking back every couple hours. I do notice a little bit more cohesive sound (bass to midrange and midrange to treble), and a touch more treble extension than what I heard this morning. I confirmed it by comparing it to other pairs of IEMs.

Does anyone on here with the t2 have over 50 or more hours on theirs? If so did you notice any changes with that much play time?

Thanks in advance.

judging by the looks of those tips, i cant see how you get any sound out, have you tried different ones?

That's a problem with Shure and Westone IEMs.  Their shell has a very narrow nozzle, sized for Comply T100 tips.  This DIY project most likely uses Se535 housing shells from Lunashops - http://www.lunashops.com/goods.php?id=4671

I think I did free air run for 50hrs with spot checking throughout burn in.  The improvements were in line with what you are hearing, nothing too drastic afterwards.

Some of the mess at the Bign household - my wife figures its about $300 worth of junk.... Maybe not that low - but she thinks her shoe and purse collection is more - and she is right.

Oh, there's a lot more than 300 dollars in just one of those pouches alone! Nice collection! Welcome to the lab!

Just one of those silver cables cost that much ;)

@Ivabign : that is one heck of a treasure chest/bin you got in there!!!

Hi friends!
etysmile.gif

I'll get some pictures up later of my gear I have from my extremely HQ smartphone camera!!! (note the sarcasm)

Also, about the bluetooth speakers a couple pages back. If anyone is looking for one with REALLY good range, 15-20 hr(depending on volume) battery life, and pretty great SQ with surprisingly decent bass thanksto the passive bass radiator on the bottom.
I recommend the BetNEW X05 (it's a rebrand I think) from Amazon for a sub $100 Bluetooth speaker. I got mine when it was $50. I can't attest to the other X05 models like Mocole, but should be nearly identical. Hope this helps anyone here!
