Thanks, guys. I agree that HiFiMan needs to take a step back and make sure they're tuning their gear to please their long-time fans. Their newer tuning seems much more conventional, appealing to a mass market. I guess that's what they're after now?

Vince, I can see you enjoying HE400i. Try those if you get a chance.
The 560 is a very special phone. Untouched in its price range imo. The edition X looks interesting as well.

Oh, just saw Edition X. Heard a bit about those before RMAF but didn't get a name. Look awesome but out of my price range right now, as are your HE560 raybone0566.
I totally understand, my boss (the wife) has informed me all future purchases must be funded through sales of current gear. If you get chance do audition them. They are special

Next HP up in my audition list is the Labster ZMF OMNI's. When are those gonna start touring North America, Vince?
I'm going to be spending a couple of weeks with them first, then I'll ship them off.

With a good DAC it's sooooooooo incredibly engaging and addicting to listen to them. Rich and responsive and so comfortable! You guys are in for a treat!

With the earpods - get a a pair of Earskinz, and also a set of foamies to go over the top.

Will regular foamies will suffice? I was thinking that foamies might cover up the side vent, then I realized that it would be no different than regular earbuds, the non traditional design thew me for a loop :P

Will look into earskinz, thanks for the heads up!

Yep - it helps with the seal.  They're actually pretty good sounding for generic buds once you mod them with the Skinz and covers.  I used to have a photo from way back - I'll see if I can find it ....

Thanks Paul a pic would definitely help. Checked out the earskinz site, looks really good. Will try foam as well to see how that changes things.

Do you use both the foam and earskinz at the same time?
