Son, treble leaves much to be desired, sorry.
I have the Noble K10U, SE846, had Dita's & have heard Ref1 & Roxxane. FX850 treble may not have the extension or resolution of these iem's but its not bad & for the money these cannot be beat IMO. Best sound per dollar that I have heard in an iem till date. Love mine.

Punit,
Thanks for your reply,a very good post, and yes,you own some fine gear.
I was able to grab the FX-850,used in "Like New" condition ,for under $200.00,and judging by the build quality,& hopefully the SQ,I did get, a good deal...if not, well??
I will be going to Thailand,10/27/15 for anywhere from 30-90 days, and I wanted to load up with a few pairs,of IEM's,and avoid buying any audio gear in Bangkok,{can be super-pricey}.

100% agree! thanks for introducing them to me...after I had heard @punit HA-FX850 I ordered a pair for myself. One of the earphones that will likely never leave my "inner circle"
Cheers,

Oh my GOD!
What you wrote in 2012...is exactly what happened to me few months ago!!!
Actually, it wasn't my fault...somebody tried to take the cable out from the unit as that stupid thing got stuck inside the unit as well...
So what happened? I am trying everything I can to get it out but I need like a micro clip or something....
Did you just throw it away?

I agree on limited extension, but treble resolution is top-notch and at eye level with more expensive multi-BAs or hybrids, while being not as sharp or clinical sounding as many of them.

Agreed, and the bassy nature in stock form kind of overpower the trebles extension by a bit. Hence the illusion

guys I lost my second pair of fx850s!
im researching for replacement headphones, researching other iems that may have the rich bass texture and extension of the fx850, without the recessed mids. anyone have any recommendations?

fidue A73, spacious soundstage, deep bass, great detail, really good earphone for 150.00. Another great iem is the Puro ie500, bass is not as deep, but just right. 50.00guys I lost my second pair of fx850s!

If you ask nicely, I might sell my fx750. I love them but I think I found my end game.
