how bout comparison between fx850 and fx1100? is it worth to spend more $130 to get fx1100?
some people said that both have no big different in sound quality
is that true?

James and dopaminer both said that the 1100 isn't worth the extra money over the 850. James however, came up with a mod (Link in his sig) that allows the 1100 to outperform the 850. On the other hand, the OP in the 1100 thread gave a detailed comparison between the two. There's another comparison over at a different forumTRANCE enjoyed it better than the Z5 and offered additional impressions. etc.

Of course, both of those may very well pale in comparison to the full-sized Wood headphones that went on sale recently.

I've got both the 750,& 850, and instead of staying with something similar like the 1100, I opted for the Dunu d2kj. In that price range and a fantastic earphone imo. Anyone considering spending that amount on an earphone should consider those.

Great summary, thanks :) Wow, those full-sized JVCs look awesome!

I agree that the D2000J are fantastic IEMs, but for my kind of music (mostly jazz, classical, acoustic) and listening habits (quiet surroundings, low to medium volume) the modded FX1100 outperform all other IEMs I know. They simply offer the best mix of timbre, refinement, dynamics and soundstage I've ever heard from an IEM.

I need to note though, that I'm not a big fan of their stock tuning and would prefer both the FX850 and D2000J to their stock sound.

Fx850 is very similar to ma750, but much better.

I agree with that having had both (and still have the HA-FX850).

Cheers,

Just returned to my FX850's and noticed that the top nozzles (under the eartips) needed a clean. However...also noticed that there are no grills/gauzes or wax protectors at the top...you can see right in.
Is this right? Or have they come off?
