Hi-end headphones must be stored in a high-end box ☝️😎

Walnut wood, natural oil finish. Handmade by rustichandcrafts.
Be very care. I use odorless plastic. That wood can damage(change the sound) headphones if it smells too much. I noticed that on my Susvara in a wood cabinet.

After I us plastic its totally fine

Never heard about such things before. I think walnut is fine for keeping headphones. It’s not like cedar wood, which is normally used to make humidors.

By the way, stock Abyss box (the one included in „complete package”) is also wooden.

From what i've read you get mostly a bit more detail, if you have the newest pads you're probably not missing much. I also thought about upgrading from the Phi to the TC but difference should be rather small.

actually the difference is pretty significant

I actually personally feel some overstate the difference between the original version and the follow up Phi’s, but there is certainly a string of steady improvements across all versions of the 1266.

from: Google "Abyss 1266 Phi TC comparison" - First forum link.
Kinda the only real comparison post i found.
If you really want more detail, go for it, but it won't be world changing.

Thats my post, and that quote was between the original 1266, and the Phi, not the original and the TC. The TC is indeed the best of the three in terms of resolution, detail, transparency etc...

With that being said, if you want a pair of 1266, but don't want to spend minimum of $4000USD, the Phi's can sometimes be had on the used market for very attractive pricing.

You may want to take the link out of your post btw, mods will remove it.

Interesting, then maybe i will consider upgrading to the TC.
I checked the rules & guidelines and terms of service of head-fi but there no such rule that doesn't allow a link to another forum as long as the user isn't banned. Am i missing something?

Edit:
There's just
5. Head-Fi does not allow the posting of links to the websites of banned members. Such links may be removed with or without notice.

the mentioned link, links to a forum that head-fi does not like. I try to stay out of any politics, but just wanted you to know that linking to said forum is met with a deletion and message from a mod saying "we hope you understand, even if you don't agree." Mentioning the name or acronym is also met with deletion.

Zzzzzz, so it's just to this specific forum? Well, how the heck should a user know that some links are ok and some are not... I will edit it... Thanks.
Going back to topic: You did write that the bass got even better with the TC, so that's something i might want. In terms of resolution i don't care that much.
