Would I rather own a headphone you can drive a truck over, or one that doesn't break when you ship it? Hmmmm, thinking...Try do this with Susvara lol
I grabbed itIn case anyone is interested or wants to turn their TC into the deluxe or complete package (assuming you have the superconductor cable), I’ve got abyss’s high quality leather bag for sale. I bought thinking I would use this but I find I don’t really take my TC outside of the house, so would rather get this to someone who can enjoy it more. It’s very well made and holds the TC well

Would be very interesting to hear comparisons between 1266 and Susvara with Mitch neutral filters on both.Having a Sunday afternoon session with 1266 TC, using Mitch’s Neutral filter, listening to this album. The mids on TC are just outstanding.
Not sure if I'd call if AOTY but I was pretty impressed with this album recently and has been on a regular rotation on the TCs
@jlbrach perhaps can chime in on this?Would be very interesting to hear comparisons between 1266 and Susvara with Mitch neutral filters on both.
Thanks! How do they compare then? Are they still "1266" and "Susvara" somehow or do they become similar?I think the filters improve both HP's...I think the filter gives the abyss better mid range and balance and I think the filter gives the susvara more pronounced bass and to my ears a nicer and wider soundstage...I love them both
I think the two cans each stay in their own separate lanes as they respond to the filters. That is true even when the "neutral" convolution is active in each case. They maintain very different and distinct sonic imprints when doing "neutral," which seems fine because I do not think the point of the filtering is to make the two headphones sound alike. Thanks! Yeah, I didn't mean that they should sound the same. I'm just someone who has Susvara, has an eye on 1266 and has no way to demo it, but would need to buy it blind. I'm trying to simulate in my head what kind of an animal 1266 isI think the two cans each stay in their own separate lanes as they respond to the filters. Gotcha! In my humble estimation, the TC can bring to the table more meat and kick in the mid-to low end for Susvara lovers who tend to find it a bit too smooth (or even "dull") for some tracks on occasion. Conversely, the Susvara's relatively calmer/smoother/gentler presentation might prove to be a more soothing/comforting alternative if/when the more aggressive footprint of the TC ever becomes a little intense of an assault to bear or even fatiguing. I also feel like saying something about how they both handle soundstage but can't find the words to nail down the difference in precise enough terms at the moment. Still, I guess what I am saying is that the two cans complement each other well when driven properly and fed the right sources. On each side of the fence, convolution filters can bring additional more or less interesting sound configurations and variations as customized and desired by the user.Yeah, I didn't mean that they should sound the same. definitely not the same but fills in the areas where improvement is possible in both of these great HP'sThanks! How do they compare then? Are they still "1266" and "Susvara" somehow or do they become similar?
Damn you a swaggy dude!I grabbed it
I love me some Abyss swag
