The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016
Apr 27, 2016 at 4:19 PM Post #18,196 of 18,652
Months have passed, I've tried several sources with Tralucent Ref.1 but no other sources have provided quite the same synergy as my iBasso DX50. It's not just the sound though, really the design, touchscreen, headphone out at the bottom all contribute to the correct user experience for me. The battery charges quickly when fed 2A. I understand there are better players out there, but the point of this post is I've been juggling through a few always falling back to iBasso DX50 with this IEM. I'll keep searching slowly for that upgrade but until then...

That's good to know! I think I'm going to hold off on upgrading until the Geek Wave is released..

Really wonder how dx50 will sound when paired with the new AT MSR7. Anyone tried that? :D

Oh dude, it's totally different from anything else you could find in the price range. If you love mid vocals and soundstage this pair is awesome. When I came to the audio store, tried some headphones from AT, Beyer and AKG in the price range of 100-300$(i tried some Sony but they are way too dark) and then I put on MSR7 and loved it immediately.

What I want to say here is if you are not a basshead this will be a nice choice (still depending on your taste, but give it a try right now).

Hi @Paul - iBasso

any news about the DAC functionality for Linux/Mac? Will that broken feature be repaired soon?

Cheers!

Hi guys, I am new to this. I am planning to buy a Ibasso DX50 but I am still not sure since I have an iPOD classic. But I hear that DX50 sounds really good. Also, does it recognize m4a files? Thanks in advance.

Yes and ALAC to among other types. Just drag and drop from your iTunes library onto the SD card and go.
