Massive thanks to @TeamHiFiMAN for hooking me up with a replacement cable, even though my RE2000 are out of warranty.

Customer service like this means a lot.

Without reading the past 40 Pages, are there any replacement earbuds for the Re2000 available, that you can recommend?

Are you talking about the color or sound differences? The driver is the same only the housing is different. 24kt gold plated brass for the gold vs aluminum for the silver.

I remember reading that some people prefer sound of silver version.
Is there any difference between silver and gold stock cables?
Honestly, I don't remember, all I know is the gold cable is stronger, has a sturdy L shaped termination of 3.5mm jack, very light and sounds very good. I can wear it straight down, my ears hurt with cables behind them.
But now, I mostly use balanced cables.

You might be right about the tuning differences. I've been looking online doing a little research and it does seem that they might be tuned differently. I have the RE2000 silver's and they are very balanced sounding and musical. They are very good for a single driver design.

Driver tuning is different according to reviews, the silver is still excellent and way cheaper (750$ from hifiman directly)

I still own the original silver Version.
Wonder what this one will bring and how expensive it will be over here
So do I. I use mine with the Dragonfly Cobalt and the pairing sounds down right addictive. It’ll be interesting to see and hear what the improvements are on the Pro version from a sound standpoint.

Converting the 13,860 yuan price to US dollars is around $2,154 for the RE2000 Pro’s

Guess the Real price will be at least 2500€ then.

For reference the new EF1000 with the R2R DAC would cost only 10k €, when directly converted. The EF1000 without costs already 14k €
