The GermanMAESTRO GMP 8.300 D Professional, a hidden gem

I think it's a single pad price, looking at other webstores prices makes me think that...
And to Portugal Thomann will only accept order equal or above 25Eur and shipping is 20Eur! ;(

Will mail them but probably will have to look elsewhere...

I'm quite sure it's the price per pair: http://www.thomann.de/nl/beyerdynamic_dt990_ersatzohrpolster.htm?sid=b31a58d1207376233638f756f452ee5d
To the Netherlands the minimumprice is also 25 Euro, but that's including shipping costs
20,- Euro shipping costs to Portugal is outrageous.

BTW: what I forgot to mention is that the DT770 velour pads are a little bit deeper than the DT880/990. The with is the same.

Interesting review thanks @ Tiemen , your experience with the german -maestro seems to mirror what i heard when i got to try these out , An overall pleasing sound ,leaning towards a smooth bright sound with very good quality but lean bass response.

It's 300 Ohms.

Thanks for this!
So the QP805 HS have slightly different specs from the GMP8.300D.

For example:

SPL QP: 98 dB
SPL GMP: 100 dB

FR QP: 10 - 33.400 Hz
FR GMP: 14 - 24.100  Hz

They are different indeed.

Tiemen, could you tell me what is the outer diameter of the DT880/990 earpads? DT770 if the same.
Outer diameter of GMP pads is 100mm. I just want to be sure that Beyer pads will fit well, before ordering.

And you where right about the earpads price at Thomann, it's per pair. Confirmed though e-mail.

Thanks!

I'm sure they will fit, because I have the DT770 pads on my GMP 250. Earcups of GMP 250 and GMP 400 are the same.
And the DT770/880/990 pads are also 100 mm.

For the Netherlands, the DT880/990 pads from Thomann are 18,30 Euro, not counting the 8,- Euro shipping costs.
Not sure if it's a pair, or a single pad. Maybe you should mail Thomann for clarification.

From the Portuguese description: Colour: Grey. (Pair).

@kkl10: Shipping to Germany is free. So I could ship you these pads for 14 € with Hermes International. Of course you would have to pay in advance, but no need to add another item. I probably find something for myself to add.

^^Oh, sorry weissglut, I didn't see your post until now, lol.
Anyway I got the DT880 pads from Hifiheadphones.co.uk, way cheaper!

Having used them for a week, I can say these pads (unmodded) sound reasonably good on the GMP 400. They provide a good tonal balance (in between the light and airy sound of the 41-6049 earpads and the bassy and dark sound of the stock ones), the sound is a bit more raw and maybe transparent and less smooth.
But these are still not presenting me the right sound...

The DT880 are less deep than the GMP ones and the hole is around 55-60mm.

EDIT: Apologize of topic. :)

It's been a few minutes but I'm still using mine as a daily driver with the HM5 pads. :beerchug:
