Yes, I ordered the 6050 ovals as well. Both were in stock I believe.

Will be interesting! If they're somewhere in between the two models in my what I perceive as quality reproduction, with better isolation than the HD25's, I'd already be happy. If they'll be even better than the 8400, which I doubt is wholly possible, I'll order the 8.300's and start having fun with the pads :)

Weissglut have both, see post #339 maybe you can ask him directly about the isolation. Since I've got the 8.35 my searching after close hps stopped, but this should be very interesting to hear your impression.

Awesome to know! Can you explicit any further the differences between the two GMP's? I hope the 8.35 won't be too, how would you say, "stingy" so that it masks important elements of acoustic music...

This is something that's somewhat contradictory to the overall view over the headphones on this thread. If anything, the HD25-1's bass lacks definition. If it's much looser and less defined to those, I'm not going to like the 8.35's, not in the least. I'm hopeful the 6050 pads make all the difference.

Don't know about the GMP 8.35D, but my GMP 8.300D has a tight, textured and detailed bass. Maybe a bit too lean for some, but I think it's one the best bass reproduction you can get from a headphone.

"Lean" usually promises good things for me

The 8.300's certainly seem smoother. But given the reported amping requirements for the higher end 300ohm drivers, I'm a bit skeptical as to how they would fare with my Graham Slee Voyager...

If they have promise but I'm not completely happy with the 8.35's, I'll probably have to order the 8.300 just for good measure.

The straight cable would be a plus as well.

Tiemen, with what are you driving your 8.300D? I'm sure a portable player by itself might cough, but how good does your listed cmoy do with them?

Don't let the 300 ohm fool you, Their sensivity is rather high, they are really not hard to drive.

I've read it thanks :) Actually I've read almost everything there is about the two 8.x's.

So I take it the cmoy had no troubles with it?

No, but I prefer the somewhat darker and beefier sounding built-in amp of my Denon pre amp.

Got the QP805's as well.

Two pairs on the way now; will see which I'll like better.
