James, when roughly expect the firmware with function USB-DAC?

One idea to keep your developers' minds at ease: you could use a "rolling release" cycle. For example, on the first of every other month devs can release the newest version, sit and discuss what still needs to be updated. Then prioritize the list based on what is closest to completion, what features are relying on other functionality, etc. Then you pick certain features and everyone develops whatever they are responsible for. About 1.5 months in, they merge the code and do bug fixing after the merge, then they release. You dont get very many features per update but since its rolling release, the gradual improvement leaves room for user feedback and reprioritizing every 2 months.

In this latest update i dont see any track listing changes, but a bunch of other stuff is there that I like.

Good job! I'll probably load it up during work and see how it runs.

Hi James,
thanks for the new firmware. I just installed it and I can appreciate some of the changes to the player.
I'm happy about all the various bug fixes and the slight changes to the UI (e.g. a new theme, the longer time to press ON button to switch on the player), but are there any news on the implementation for:
- the navigation via "Category --> Artist--> Album"
- the fixing of the gapless play problem

These 2 topics (together with folder navigation limit, solved in FW 1.31) were listed by most of the users as the main issues faced so far with X3.

I'd not mind to get the additional USB-DAC support, a more responsive UI, more themes, etc... but can you please reassure us that the 2 points mentioned above are really in your focus for the next FW update (I thought they were actually in scope for this release ) ?

Thanks

I would also like this information.

In addition, I have a question. In category view, is the list created using id3 tags or is it created using file name? I ask because if it is created using id3 tags, I am out of luck. But if it is created using file names, I shouldn't have any issue with removing the track number information from my file names and get that list in alphabetical order under all views (artist, all songs, genre)

Any chance of getting a proper Eq with bands?

I was about to sell the device, but watching your constant efforts is making me consider it. Although I'm not sure I like the sound signature that much, it is tiring and harsh with my Momentum (18 ohm is it too low for the raw power of the amp?). Maybe wih the option of lowering the 4khz region a little bit the sound might taste better to my ears.

Kudos for your constant work.
