Sorry if this has been asked before. Can the Fiio X3 create and save playlists? I'm a new X3 user and can't figure out how to do it.

No, there is only the 'Favourites' playlist. You hold the back button up-left while playing a song and then navigate to 'Add to favourites' or 'Remove from favourites' (written from memory, not with device in hand).
I think this is a real draw back for X3. Why can't FiiO implement a way to create and save multiple playlists, considering it's a current technology??? Apple iPod has been doing this for years. iBasso DX50 can create and save multiple playlist too.

Or just do like we did on the C3, put a copy of your "Play List" songs in thier own folder and just play the folder. Playlist files were talked about in the firmware thread and are on the list.
I picked up the X3 for the sound as opposed to the features... But that is just me as I am an album listener and a C3 vetran.

we need more time to do that, we have create two different OS in x3 and X5 in one year, and the new X3 with new UI are testing right now.

Thanks for the response on the X3 guys. I'm truly appreciative of the photos JamesFiiO posted of the new firmware. It truly makes me a proud new owner of the X3 because the company actually listen to their customers' needs and that's what make it special to support FiiO. Even though this is my first purchase of a FiiO product, you can be sure that I'll be a long term customer when you deliver on your promises.
Yes TrollDargon, I totally agree with you regarding X3's sound quality.

Thank you for this information. This shows FiiO listens to customer opinion. This is great. Is there an approximate date for releasing this new firmware?
Also, is FiiO going to release a new amp? I would love an amp which is more controlled than E12 and as poweful.

Pros of the X3:
Weird button layout
Freezes and bugs
Scrolling issue
No EQ!
- Sounds better than Clip Zip and things of that nature.
- Powerful amp.
- Nice finish.
- Comes with SD card, case, coaxial cable, SD card reader, aux cable
- Customer service and updates

What headphones are you driving that the E12 isn't controlling? You may have to go up a bit in price point if the Mont Blanc isn't getting the job done for ya. Good luck!

What's with the obsession with EQ?
If you want EQ, buy a player that needs it.
I've used my X3 with Soundmagic E10, RHA MA 750 and AKG K550 across all sorts of different music and in no case have I felt the need for EQ.
I appreciate some people may want it but if that's the case why did you buy an X3?
As far as I can see no one has ever said it has EQ and no one has ever said it will get EQ so why buy it and then keep moaning about it not having EQ?
