Hopefully it will not be a problem for you but it does occur on mine at least once a day. It normally occurs while listening to music and won't go to the next song then freezes. I use mine several hours a day and normally again does it about once a day. That's been my experience. Hold down the play button for ten second or so and then restart. Has always worked.

Not the same for me. I had set it to play an Album (as I always do) , put the x3's hold switch ON and placed it into my bag and walked off. Around 2 songs later just heard a click and that was it.

I'd not say its annoying me much so far as I've only had it happen once. I've had the x3  since July.. So that's not bad to be honest with you.

Yeah that's not bad, my newer IPod Classic freezes from time to time as well. I've had my X3 the same amount of time and it only froze once as well. I can't count the amount of times my DX50 has froze.

Interesting.  As expected, the frequency of freezing is commensurate with usage, but as some have said here, the player just stops in normal playback.   If it stops at the end of a track and freezes, I wonder if it may because the X3 has some occasional trouble reading the end of a file correctly.  Perhaps some of our files are corrupt or incorrectly formatted in some small way, that some DAPs and software are able to deal with better than others.

I have not owned an iPod or DX50, but from what is said here, it may a common problem in DAPs .  I have come from a Clip+, which has never locked up in two years.

Wither way, it is something for FiiO to address.  I would like to be able to navigate the library without it freezing periodically.   FiiO?

Exact same problem here.
Never had a freeze since July, and now got it already 3 times in the last few days (all after upgrading to FW 2.10).
And I need to bring a needle on the go with me, to be able to reset the X3 when not at home :-(

So far, cross fingers, I've only had a couple or so freezes, but they have all been when the gapless setting is on. It may be coincidence, but it may be worth turning gapless off if you don't need it?

My X3 is incoming!! After being underwhelmed with the DX50 I hope the X3 hits a sweet spot.

My X3 just landed couple of days before and overall I'm liking the DX50's UI better.  What was your biggest issue with the DX50?

So DX50 UI is better, so is the build I'd assume.
What about the sound, tried to read through the posts comparing both but opinions are all over the board.
Thanks in advance
