2 ideas for the X3
- it would be good if the battery would be changeable , not as with the E7 [does anyone know some information concerning it?]
- a nice feature would be, if the DAC function could be used when it is connected to the E9 [ or trough the USB, but here have some concerns that it will not be as simple ]

They already addressed those. Removable battery will necessitate a bigger case. The reason why it was possible for the E11 is because it only has a very small PCB, which only has an amp. The X3 is almost like the E7, plus SPDIF, plus line out, plus a card reader, plus a screen. You cannot cram a removable battery in the same case, and if they had to come up with a new case out of a bigger mold, that would drive up the price.

Plus the X3's essentially just waiting for its turn to be churned out at the factory, with only software being tweaked.

LMAO, I don't care how many times statements similar to this are posted, people are still going to write posts telling what they want to see in it. We are way past that stage. Everything on the hardware side has pretty much been set for a while.

If it can compare to hm 602 I am all up for it

In what way?  I don't see comparing a NOS DAC to the 8740 as comparable in any way.  If you want to compare feature sets then you can figure out a winner for your needs before they even make it.

does that means x3 hv worse sound compared to 602>?   sorry ,imma noobies...ha

not that this will do any good, but NO ONE KNOWS HOW THE X3 SOUNDS..... NO ONE.......   anyone trying to compare it to any other player or wondering if it sounds better/worse than another player is completely guessing.

Aren't the TDA154x and WM8740, as far as the specific implementation is concerned, both NOS DACs? AFAIK the WM8740 needs to receive the OS signal as it is, but it can't OS on its own, ergo both the HM602 and X3 - and for that matter the S:Flo and every other DAP save for the HM801 and Colorfly - are all NOS units. My Marantz CD60 has a TDA1541 but it's a 4x OS unit, not NOS. At least not until I bypass the OS chip, which is doable but I might fry something.

Maybe either you are thinking of upsampling, not oversampling or your DAC was modified to be NOS.  From Wolfson:

"The WM8740 is a high performance 128fs oversampling rate stereo DAC"

If there is something I'm missing I'm all ears.

It has been posted on the first page, X3 will support 24/192.

I was just stating my expectation, that is all. But it is not that hard to compare two DAP sound wise, the same way we compare two different amp. I am not interested in the hardware, if it sounds good I am down with it.

Oh. So it's just the USB receiver chip on the E7 that can't handle signals beyond 16/44.1.
