Woah!!  Slimmer and better battery.  YES!

24/192?!  O-M-G.  I presume if confirmed that would include 24/48, 24/88.2, 24/96?

It shouldn't be a problem as long as the controller / firmware can handle it. WM8740 by spec should be able handle all those oversampling, anywhere from 16/44 up to 24/192.

Does that mean that you dump the nokia battery for some other kind and that it dont  fit the size of the E11?

Nokia battery has never been intended for X3. It is for E11 only. Using those Nokia battery will severally cut down the battery life of X3. AFAIK, the original X3 battery is already bigger in capacity than Nokia battery, so the new battery is probably going to be even bigger.

192/24? APE support? Dang! Better battery life? Slimmer? Double dang!

This just got even better. I hope I'll be able to afford a product this feature-rich.

Why would anyone use APE anyways when FLAC is out there? Whenever I come across an APE file I immediately convert it to FLAC.

Basically I just take that any additional supported formats are a good thing. They're not impacting your ability to listen to FLACs or mp3s and it means that I can easily listen to the few APEs I have around natively. Everybody wins.

OGG is kind of big a few years ago but now it is dropping out of fashion, especially in between FLAC and LAME MP3 (not to mention wma and aac for music download service). The only advantage of OGG for having a slightly higher compression rate is not longer an important factor when price of digital storage is dropping so fast.

it would be really nice if the OP could make the first thread into a compilation of all the info about this player.  sorting through 30, and what will surely be a lot more pages of posts to get info about this thing is way too much work

thanks

Funny enough, the storage sizes of our DAPs is shrinking...
