Can you give an estimate of the battery life playing 16/44.1 flac files at 75% volume?

Sorry not now because the firmware still not the final version , and the Soc will working in different speed ( up to 600MHz) so I can't answer your question now

Guess that's good news for the apple-heads ;).

Yes, now support APE/FLAC/WAV/WMA/ALAC , all up to 192K/24B, is X3 will be the first DAP which support so many kind of Lossless 192/24 music in the world?

Sounds like it :). Will the battery drain severely on APE? I tend to hear APE is quite brutal during conversion.

APE format includes 5 different model, fast, normal, high, extra high, insane, the insane can compress the music file to the smallest size, but it need the player very high speed so it can extract the file and play.

and FLAC includes 8 different compress model. and so far, none of the DAP can support all the APE format, maybe next time we need a dual core 2GHZ Soc and 2G ram to support it. lol

I say don't bother with APE.....who uses that anymore? FLAC and ALAC support are all good. Any time I've come across APE files, the first thing I do is convert them to FLAC.

That would be interesting if you could achieve it. It would be a nice selling point regarding lossless and more space. But the question would be how much would that impact battery life?

yea ALAC and FLAC is more than enough, I never store my files with ape

It's still a nice feature to have. I mean if it really saved enough space and still had similar battery life I'd be likely to convert my files on the device (not my actual files) to APE to benefit from the saved space. Although I agree with you I don't see it as a requirement at all. But it shows you their dedication and support as a whole.

Now I wonder how much of a difference in battery life there would be between an X3 loaded with 16/44.1 FLAC, and one loaded with 320k MP3. I for one don't have any hi-res files, and don't plan to.....16/44.1 is just fine, IMO.  But I don't have all my music in FLAC, either.....a fair amount of it is high-bitrate MP3.
