Just wondering, would the x3 be able to drive headphones like akg k701/2 or q701? For what i know those are hard to drive headphones, so, i was wondering if to drive them i'd need something like the e12.

I have used my K702 with my X3ii and it does a good job,  but you will have to use High Gain for decent volume.

They do sound a bit underpowered though, compared to having them amped through my Xonar STX on my PC anyway.

I can't speak for the X3 but my X3ii could drive my 702's just fine, not going to reach the stratosphere in terms of all the 702's can take but a very detailed and comfortable level none the less

If you want to add a little umph to it I added a $26 (yes that's right I AliExpressed a Toppy NX1 for $26 bucks) and have all the juice you need

This setup is almost too much for my 553's!

Hey guys:

Iwant to transition to this from an iPod touch. No purchased music, but a lot of ALAC. Can my iTunes playlists be easily transfered to the X3ii? Plan on a 128gb card so I can just copy and paste my entire music folder (iTunes organized thoigb).

Thanks!

Yes, you can drag your "iTunes Music" folder onto the SD card. For optimum results, format the card within the player first.

If you're on a Mac and want to be able to among folders easily from within iTunes, you can also get the excellent Dapper from the App store. It will manage synchronization for you so you can add and delete albums at will.

I am on Windows 10 PC. If I do this, along with the music, will my iTunes created playlists transfer as well?

What would be the best way to keep the playlists and new music synced?

Thanks for the help :)

Not a Windows guy, so not sure how you'd do playlists. They won't transfer over just by copying the iTunes Music folder. I'm sure someone from the Windows world will jump in with an answer soon.

Question for all of you. If I am only planning to listen to 320k mp3s, will the X3 still sounds a lot better than an IPod Touch?

Sent from my SM-G920W8 using Tapatalk

Using MP3 320kbps is absolutely fine, there are many conversations across the internet which debate any differences between 16/44 FLAC and well converted MP3 320kbps files, so don't let that bother you. As for the iPod question its really preference related and the gear you're using. From my experience, iPod touch 4g and 5g are no slouches in terms of audio quality, but you have a lot more features on X3II. True line out, coax out, 24bit support which you will not use and numerous other goodies.

if you can demo X3II first is always the best option.

Thanks guys. But I find it has a bad sound. Think that E12 Mont Blanc would be better.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the only thing you gain with the E11/A3 is a passive bass boost (very passive from what I read).  When I was looking for an amp, I went with the NX1 over the E11/A3 because of the battery life of the NX1.  Over a 100 hours is hard to beat.  I thought it was a very neutral sounding and paired extremely well with my X1.  I also read a lot of reviews that said the E11 had a hiss and had an audible pop when powering it on if you had you headphones/IEM on.  Those were definite things I didn't want to deal with.  I had none of that with the NX1.
