Anyone having issues with the scroll wheel? Its my 2nd unit and the scroll wheel still becomes funky after x hours of use. Its so unresponsive and sometimes even rotating clockwise has a reverse resoponse.

Same thing here. Erratic wheel. It's very annoying. I'm very disappointed with FiiO for this issue.

Does anyone have a Sony A15/A17 and can say which they prefer? I never did like the wheel on the X3ii, and all these reports of it getting even worse are worrying me. The interface is pretty unintuitive I find too.

The Sony has way better battery life and hard buttons, and it's very small too. I used one of the older MP3 Walkman players about 6-7 years ago and liked it a lot, although it looks like the interface has evolved very little, which also worries me about the Sony. I remember having file based playlists was annoying at best.

I've been looking at the Sony A17 model too incase my X3 craps out or even if it doesn't. I've read good things about them but they aren't as powerful as the X3ii so hard to drive headphones would definitely need an amp but I use IEMs for the most part. As far as  the scroll wheel on the X3 goes I use it as little as possible. I prefer to use the forward and back buttons for navigation except for certain submenus where you can only use the scroll wheel and of course the center button but I find I can use it much like the old X3 using mostly using the buttons. I guess that's what appeals to me about the Sony A17 the all button navigation. I've had it in my mind too to maybe buy an original X3 again..it's got buttons!

Has anyone here gone through the Fiio Warranty/Service process? If you could share your experience here, it would be reassuring..
