Glad to hear. Mine took about 12 hours. I didn't think that was too bad. Just waiting for it to ship! As I am sure you are too!

Cheers brother

Brooko certainly is an asset to the community.

I would not necessarily take the comments on 24 bits being useless for play back as gospel. I think it should be regarded as one person's considered opinion.

Really not trying to renew a flame war but that opinion was stated as a fact and on many forums on head-fi and elsewhere there might be some lively debate.

Agree - sorry - I should have stated that was my opinion (science is in my corner on this though).  Suggest anyone that wants more info on this take a trip to Sound Science - plenty of threads on it there.  Lets leave it at that on this thread.

I'm trying to do the Fiio X3 Gen 1 owner's deal but am getting a message that says from Ali Express: "We are sorry, but due to legal restrictions, AliExpress is unable to provide escrow services to residents located in Washington State." Does anyone know what is going on?

It's weird how Amazon is headquartered in Washington. I'm sure that has nothing to do with it. LOL

The price adjustment takes time because we review the documents during office hours. In a few hours we'll also be leaving for the weekend so expect any orders placed after that to sit until next Monday China time before they are adjusted :o

Is that right, the new X3 does not have hardware bass and treble adjustments, like the old one does?

This is one of the best feature of the old one. (Unfortunately the software EQ on the old one just kills sound quality...)

If the new one does not have hardware bass and treble adjustments, is the new software EQ good enough to "replace" the old ones awesome hardware adjustment?

Any experience with this?

There's a 10 band equalizer.

I know that.
My question is, if anyone can compare the old X3 with hardware adjustment (not the software eq) to the new X3's software eq sound quality wise.

(I use the old X3 hardware bass enhancement sometimes, but not the software one. Does the new X3 software eq give the same quality bass level as the old hardware eq? Cause the old software eq is useless...)

Hope, I made it more clear...

I think it's the same 10-band graphic EQ as in the X5. For my requirements it is excellent. I can't see how a hardware EQ can be better than a software EQ, unless the former's frequency bands and filter shapes accidentally cover your individual needs better. In my case classic tone controls just for bass and treble wouldn't help much with the (perceived) coloration of the earphones I use with the X5. However, I think the 31 Hz and 16 kHz bands would be a passable substitute for the tone controls you're used to, but the amplitude range is just +/–6 dB – maybe not enough for bassheads (?).

Hi [@]bestula[/@]. I recently reviewed the new X3 and no, it does not have hardware bass / treble EQ like the old X3. As JaZZ mentioned, it does have a nice 10-band EQ in software just like the X5.

Can the 10-band software EQ replace or replicate the hardware EQ the old X3 has? Probably with some experimentation.

Is it better than the old X3's software EQ? That would be a resounding YES!
