Yes, now that you mention it I do have to turn up the tube amp a little higher for the T50RP's over the DT880's.

The t50rp seems like great headphones. Casper seems to like a little more bass impact then I do. I'm trying to design a pair of fully open t50rp headphones for him to mod for me. This is my first idea that I played with in adobe. I'm sure it's going to change.

Looks good. I'm sure it would sound great with that mod.

Casper et Folex, google Stratocaster Open T50RP. You might want to PM him about damping. Best luck!

I actually saw that pair. I have some info on it already just by research, I know what methods I am going to try by looking at the TH500RP and his mod info. I'm pretty excited about doing this. I have a pair of stock T50RPs here that are going to be under the knife pretty soon.

W1000x drivers in a Takstar Pro 80 with some needed dampening. The rings that go on the outsides of the cups are waiting on red paint.

Any plans on painting them or bass ports ?

Just painting the rings red and the center of the cups matte black to cover the logo. No bass ports.

Can you please describe the tuning process that you use to the headphones that you mod?

It's really just trial and error. If the bass is bloated I'll put a material in that isn't really dense but will just fill the cup loosely, if the treble is harsh I'll put in something more sponge like on the backs of the cups and see if that helps. Every headphone is different though, so just try stuff and if they work, great.

What music do you use for tuning?

Chiptune and Vocaloid are the ONLY types of music one uses for tuning....
