I barely got in on the LCD-2 -- got the bamboo leather-free, one of the only SKU's remaining, but that's fine by me... been waiting for a long time to get the LCD-2, and boy did they go fast!

Keep in mind, Audeze usually has post-Black Friday specials throughout December so maybe you'll get another shot.
If I remember, last year's Audeze Black Friday specials were not very impressive to me - many product close outs - ie, Sine, iSine 20, EL-8, with some other stuff mixed in like the LCD2-C but not very much of the higher end gear.
Then in December they offered some pretty great specials on the LCD-3 Maple (for $1,100), the LCD-MX4 (same price as this BF), the LCD2CB and a couple more.

I agree, it would be nice if they at least said what the defect is like ZMF did for their sale. Despite that, the LCD-4 and 4z prices are tempting

As a customer whose bought many of their cables at full priced, I kinda feel ripped off.

I'll buy a silver a pure silver one though, at that low price. Too bad they don't have the Reference 8 in 4.4mm.

I just checked and the Ref 8 is available in 4.4mm (2 pin and mmcx).
