Also, I think beyer made the first version the apple IEM. The revised version is a dual driver (one dynamic and one BA). Not sure who the OEM was, or if apple just had it made from their own design.

How to save a little over $100 on an LCD-X or LCD-XC

Audeze has a trade in program.
https://www.audeze.com/lcd-promotion

They are offering $500 for the HD700
You can get a used HD700 from amazon for $360
Get eh headphone from amazon, then trade it in to Audeze
Sure, the diff is $140, but you have to pay the shipping to Audeze. Still, that should be in the $25 range.

You might be able to just get an Audeze dealer to knock off $125 and not deal with the hassle. Still, innovation in shopping is what we are all about :)

Hah!  If I was going to put that much effort in to it though I might as well clean out my desk and list the 100's of extra cables, tubes, and thing-a-ma-bobs lurking there.

My luck I'd get a pair of Hello Kitty headphones from AWS anyway ....

(Thanks for posting!  Not trying to be negative: While that is true for the LCD-X, even if you got the HD700 for free, this is still a better deal if you don't mind selling the HIFI-M8 for $500+:

Audeze LCD-X + Centrance HIFI-M8 for $1700 - http://www.adorama.com/aulcdxaabbld.html?emailprice=t

No current deal on the LCD-XC, but Adorama has had them in the past.

The HIFI-M8's street price isn't $500+, more around the ~$350 range.

I like the idea, but I think there are easier ways to save $100 on a LCD-X. It's been a while, but I've had luck contacting Sonic Electronix directly for better than $100 savings on the LCD-X. If you've got brick and mortar stores around you they may give you discounts as well. Calling around in general, I think, will be an easier way to save money :)

Or contact Brian at Razordog Audio for new or used deals. In my personal experience he was able to offer a better deal than Sonic Electronix

This is the link where I ordered at $460 shipped to the US two days ago.

Doesn't seem to work now, at least to Canada. Amazon automatically removes the item.

And, the cheapest (new) price comes out to $507 at the conversion to dollars (right now). (still about a savings of $100)
