Yeah... I can reach checkout.

Works with the T70 + HE400i as well (it's treated as a single product instead of a bundle so it passes).

Cruel to say that... The HE-400i could Serve as a replacement/upgrade main driver for me :frowning2:
I've really wanted an Oppo PM-2 since I wrote my review (tried to keep from overhyping the headphone in my review, but the PM-2's sound was really a win for me), but refurb stock are always out whenever I check Oppo's site. The HE-400i aren't the same headphone, but... They are available at a significantly more moderate price!

This is such a monster deal in terms of SQ for price. The T70 with Brainwavz Focus pads are fantastic. This can be an endgame both open and closed back or if anyone wants to split this.

Have you tried DT1770? How it sounds compared with T70?

Unfortunately I have not heard the DT1770. It's suppose to be everything the stock T70 is suppose to be though (whatever that means). From what I've read Beyer basically took care of all the issues with the T70 and made the DT1770. I take it the treble is not fatiguing but can extract as much details and there's actual bass punch. That's from reading.

I do know that a T70 (no T70p but it may sound the same) has bass punch and a calmer treble with Hifiman/Brainwavz Focus pads, $25 for the latter at Amazon.

Are these the HM5 pads you are talking about?

Also, do you know if those angled leather HM5 pads are any good on them?

I'm getting a pair soon and will be swappin out the pads ASAP :)

I listened to both at RMAF. I very much like the beyer sound, it the T70 didn't do it for me. Very harsh and silibent, and not much bass. The T70 was mort comfortable due to less clamp, but at the expense of bass. The 1770 sounded great, but the clamp is harder. For reference, I have 770s at work, and will soon get some 1770s to compare to my ether c.

Note on deals, it's worth trying the sonic name your price offer, you just might get what you request. PM sonic and see what happens. http://www.head-fi.org/u/193979/SonicElectronix

Oh no... this is down to $233.10 with the unique 10% email code I receive a few minutes ago.
Having major internal conflict right now.
Doushiyou~

Just give in! The 400i's are amazing!
They were headfonia's favorite mid-fi headphone of the year.

These are $500 cans that you can now get for less than 1/2 that. It's a no-brainier.

The sound from the PM-2 and the HE-400i are very different. If you loved the sound from the PM-2, you might not like the 400i. Don't get me wrong, the 400i is an amazing headphone and this is an amazing price. It's just not the same as the PM-2's. Of course you could always try them and then sell them if you don't. I doubt you'd be out much.
