Are the Philips x2 an upgrade from DT770 (80ohm), HD 598SE, or m50x?

You would probably get better feedback asking over in the X2 thread. I felt that they were a decent upgrade over my hd595, which was the precursor to your 598. Their sound signatures are pretty different though IMO.

I think so...I have the 595's(previous 598's), had and sold the m50's, and have heard a friends DT770...and i prefer the X2 to all of them by a pretty wide margin. Then again everyones ears are different. I just really enjoy the sound signature on the X2's alot. A great all-rounder for any type of music.

Just pulled the trigger on the Philips x2 and the v-moda cable. My credit card hates me!! Lol

Ha ha

. Nah, I think maybe it loves you, you are helping it fulfil its purpose after all! The hatred comes from people, significant others and creditors, who also want your money :)

I'm jealous of all of you getting in on this deal. If I had the money this is the one headphone I think I would go for. But I'm limited to the $20 deal of the day specials that hit above their price point! (DT235)

I just posted this in the X2 thread, but let me ask the true enablers: I own the AD2000 and HD800. How will I like adding the X2 to my open back inventory?

Like comparing a Ferrari to a BMW. Though it will certainly be a different sound signature for you. The X2 is a very warm headphone.

Personally not my preference of headphone, but still nonetheless an enjoyable listen!

I have a feeling many more are going to enjoy their new toys from the post prior to yours, as well.
$200 for the X2? That's damn tempting. Hope I don't kick myself in the ars for passing like I did on the SHP9500.

Then again, some might sell those to get these? (hint hint  )
Id take you up on this offer, I never use my shp9500's they're basically brand new. They came with the looser headphone adjustment on one side that everyone complains about but what can I except for a Awesome $50 headphone? They're great but they get no use. Pm me, if this is somethings wanna do we can setup PayPal today and I'll go ahead and buy the x2.

Great price for an X2 at $200. I still have my pair and they are great but I will wait until next year when they reach a lower price... Which has been evident with the X1.

Not saying you should wait, that's just me owning a pair already. If I didn't have a pair now, right now would be the best bang for buck for a pair of X2.

And I don't know why but I want to buy a K712 as well... I don't think I like my K7XX that much anymore.... I think the K712 sounds a bit better, more refined than the K7XX.

Weren't the x2 220 at some point? I recall that that is what they were going for before they jumped up to 300.
